Ladeee-deee-deee's Visit

Lady (or Ladeee-deee-deee as Kathryn calls her) spent the night with us on Wednesday night so that she could take the kids to school and pick them up and check out their school. She did just that, then loaded up her car with two kids and headed back to Georgia. It was a perfect weekend to take the kids because Steve had a take home final to work on and I had to go out of town for a day. Every time I talked to Lady and Paw-Paw on the phone I heard the kids in the background having the time of their lives, so it seems like it's a win/win situation for all of us. Maybe we should do this more often!

Visiting us doesn't come without a price... you must play Toy Story 3 Memory at least 3 times a day.
My sassy little diva princess. I'm afraid I'm creating a monster.
No doubt she's a Haggerty.
We Haggertys like our chips.
See you all when you get home!

Pinky Toes

Kathryn discovered the joy of nail polish just recently. Painted toenails are must have these days. As she's walking, if she catches a glimpse of her bright pink toes she has to stop what she's doing and touch her big toe on each foot. She admires her beautifully painted toes then gets back to business.
Anytime she hears the word "pretty" she immediately points down to her toes. I think I'm creating a little bit of a diva monster. She can't see a bottle of nail polish without throwing a fit and wanting her nails painted.

Messy Little Meissner & More

Kathryn is the messiest little girl. She loves digging in the dirt and getting as dirty as she possibly can.

These aren't messy, just cute.

One day at school I looked out my classroom door and saw Kathryn playing on the playground. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her.
Unfortunately, she caught me. I hurried and got out of sight hoping she would forget, but unfortunately she didn't and headed straight to my door.
My door was propped open by a little chair that she tried her best to climb over to make it in my room. She is hilarious. (And just FYI, she pulls her ponytail out all day long at school too.)

Easter "Egg"-stra

Here we are getting ready for Easter.
Kathryn had fun cracking the eggs.
Laura and Karl are early risers, so they went ahead and hunted for Easter eggs while Nathan and Kathryn snoozed.
Nathan isn't an early riser like Karl and Laura, so he went out looking for eggs after he finally decided to wake up.
He was so much fun to watch as he ran around on the lookout for eggs. He was disappointed that the plastic eggs didn't have any treats in them though.
He got so "egg"cited with each egg he found. (I know, I know. I should have stopped with the egg puns in the title.)
He got plenty of treats in his Easter basket. How many kids do you know that get beef jerky in their Easter basket?
Of course, he got some chocolate too. I already ate it though.
He got some money, but he wasn't all that impressed.
Kathryn is a chocolate lover so she was really happy to see what her basket had inside.
Kathryn is so much fun to dress up. Playing dress-up with her is my hobby.
Laura and Kathryn.
Nathan and Kathryn after church.
Easter Cousins.
The kids ran around outside a little bit after church before heading off to Easter lunch.
I don't know what's going on here.....?
Here's the part where I'm going to overload you with Kathryn pictures. I can't help it. I love dressing this little girl up and showing her off!
She loves picking flowers.
She picked all the dandelions and put each one in my purse.
Family picture on Easter.
After lunch, Kathryn finally got around to her turn at finding eggs. Nathan was kind enough to hide them for her, but she started before he was ready so he had to block her.
She had an Easter egg hunt at school, so I went out to the playground to watch. I thought she might need my help because she's never experienced an egg hunt before. Boy was I wrong! She took off and started grabbing eggs off the playground like that was what she was born to do. So I knew she would excel at her backyard egg hunt as well.
My excellent little egg hunter.
She finished the egg hunt, but she wasn't quite ready to give up her basket before she started playing.
That was Easter. What a fun day!

Meissners in Montgomery

Matt, Deborah, Laura and Karl took a family road trip down to the sunny south. They were glad to exchange their winter weather for some sunshine and warmth, which we had plenty of while they were here. If only they could figure out a way to enjoy this nice Southern weather without all the pesky Southerners. :)
Karl informed Nathan that he's not supposed to wear a shirt while playing outside in Alabama.
Karl brought his guitar so he could play with Uncle Steve.
Karl and Kathryn hanging out in the cul-de-sac. Of course, Kathryn is messing around in the dirt and gravel.
Nathan and Karl vacuuming up bugs and looking at them through the magnified bug chamber. Apparently a bug vacuum is something little boys can't live without.
They played a lot of Memory at the request of Nathan.
When they weren't out exploring Montgomery, we ventured out to the neighborhood playground.
Nathan is a fan of any and all playgrounds.
Karl and Kathryn.
Thanks for visiting. We had a lot of fun!

Zoo Pals

While Parker and Chelsea were at our house a few weeks ago we checked out the Montgomery Zoo.
I would give anything to be able to build a cage around Kathryn to keep her in one spot. She thinks she is too grown up to ride in a stroller now. She was 16 months with the attitude of a 16 year old.Kathryn is wilder than any animal at that zoo.
As always, Kathryn had a great time looking at the animals. Animals are her thing.
Daddy and Baby Sister.
Nathan always has been into getting up close and personal with large animals. I think we can thank our weekly trips to Rapid City's own Old MacDonald's Farm for that. He fed the giraffes and didn't even mind their great big, thick tongues slobbering all over his hands.
Nathan and me feeding the giraffes.

Parker wasn't a huge fan of the zoo. He was positive one of those animals was going to escape and eat him.
Can you tell that shirt is my favorite shirt of Nathan's? He's been wearing that shirt in just about every picture from every outing we've gone on lately. We took a playground break.
As usual, Kathryn planted herself right in the dirt. She is the dirtiest, messiest little girly-girl ever.
It was a big day for all. Kathryn passed out in the gift shop, but Nathan made sure he was awake to ask for everything.
Here are some pictures of some of the animals.

Slowly, but surely, I'm going to get caught up with the blog!
