Silly Goose

Nathan greeted Uncle Joe at the airport yesterday with his unsure, but polite smile. By this morning, Nathan and Uncle Joe were the best of friends. Nathan was hooked once Uncle Joe let him put a paper bag over his head and pull it off repeatedly.

We went to lunch and to the park to play today. Nathan wore himself out chasing the geese all over. Luckily, Joe was there to follow him around so I could just relax. These geese were not very fond of Nathan staring at them eye to eye though. They hissed at him, but he didn't understand. He had a permanent smile on his face all afternoon. We had to go home once he got so tired he could barely walk. Uncle Joe picked him up and he could barely hold his eye lids open. He still fought to get down and play though. When it comes to playing outside, this kid is a trooper.

Our Internet was down for a couple of days so I'll fill you in our weekend activities. The weather was so nice so we had to take advantage of it every waking moment. You can't take these nice days for granted. Nathan went out cruising up and down the sidewalk on his tricycle. He loves it!

Nathan relaxed in the pool for a little while on Saturday as well. He's a huge fan of water, as long as he doesn't have to have his hair washed. His shark pool matches his shark swimming trunks.

It wasn't all fun and games all weekend though. Nathan had to help out with some chores. He had to help Daddy with the kitchen counters. He made sure Steve measured accurately. Steve takes all the credit for the home improvement projects, but Nathan is really the one that deserves all the credit.
And here he is helping me wash the car. What a good little helper.

He ended up getting his diaper wet so I tried to change it. He wouldn't stand still long enough to get the new one on so here he is having some free time.

And here are a few extras thrown in for good measure.

Give Me a Break, It Was Just One Day!

I'll try to make this post extra long and filled with lots of pictures to make it up to Nathan's fan base. Sorry to let you down yesterday, but the Internet wasn't working again. Besides, I wouldn't have had time to post anything anyways because our landlord, Uncle Joe, is coming for a visit in a couple of days. We have to get the house in tip-top shape before he arrives because he's a real stickler for cleanliness! Totally just kidding, but we really have been working on the house. Steve is working on the kitchen: new countertops, backsplash, dishwasher and a few other cosmetic updates. Nathan is such a huge help. I don't think Steve could do any of these home improvement projects without him. Here is a picture of Nathan helping with the tiling project.

Here is a picture of Nathan right after he woke up from a nap. He is so cute when he's still a little out of it. He's only groggy for a minute though, then it's right back into the swing of things.
He's usually pretty smiley, but he's getting his other top tooth and it seems to be bothering him. He's been grinding his teeth lately. I would rather hear nails on a chalkboard. Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine. Enough about that, it's grossing me out.
My cell phone is one of Nathan's favorite toys. Grandpa gave him an old cell phone to play with, but Nathan isn't happy with it. He likes the lights and the sounds of a real phone. We went out for lunch today with a friend and we were talking and the next thing I heard was Grandma on speakerphone saying, "Nathan...Nathan." She just knows that if my number shows up, but no one is there then Nathan made the call.
Every once in a while I'll catch him taking a two second break. As soon as he realizes I'm watching, he jumps up and plays. The last thing he wants is for me to know he's tired.

Here he is just hanging out and talking about the ceiling light fixture. He is absolutely fascinated by ceiling fans and lights. At the restaurant today he told just about every waiter (they all stopped and talked to him) about the "yight" on the ceiling. He raised his arm up to show them. Every time he enters a room he looks up at the "yight" and points it out for everyone to notice. Nathan will be happy to know that Grandpa put a ceiling fan up in his room (at their house). Last summer when we visited I complained about how hot the bedrooms were, but he didn't put a fan up for me. Nathan shows interest in fans and the next thing you know he has a fan in his room just waiting for his next visit. Hey Grandpa, did I mention that Nathan also likes BMWs? Can we expect to have one of those waiting for us too?

The next few pictures are of him playing before bed.

Nathan is sharing his snack with Saber. Saber goes home tomorrow. We sure will miss him.

Oh yeah, I need to clarify something regarding the "Fowl play" posting. No, the bread was not stale. I wasn't letting Nathan eat stale bread.
