Birthday Buddy
Kathryn went to her friend Karlie's first birthday on Saturday. She and Karlie are the best of friends in her class at school. Kathryn usually greets her each day by taking whatever it is that Karlie is holding, but somehow they are still the best of friends.
Kathryn sat next to the birthday girl.
The little girl putting the hat on Kathryn is Sydney. She is a year ahead of Nathan, but she and Nathan are good friends and play together on the playground everyday. She asked where Nathan was and was disappointed that he wasn't there. She told me, "Nathan used to be shy to me, but not anymore. Now we're friends." It was so cute.
Messy little Meissner.

Parker's Visit
Chelsea and Parker decided to visit us one more time while we're still in Montgomery. They jumped in the car and drove down from Tennessee. Nathan and Parker played and laughed together all day long everyday. It started with a trip to McDonald's and playing on the indoor play land.
They laughed the whole way through Walmart.
They played together nonstop.....
... and Baby Sister didn't like it one bit.
Look at that sad little girl left out at the bottom of the bunk bed stairs.
Baby Sister wasn't so sure about that little boy who came in and stole her best friend away.

We went to a Montgomery Biscuits game with Chelsea and Parker. That's Montgomery's minor league baseball team.
It was so sad, Kathryn was the annoying younger sibling while Nathan had someone more fun to play with.
Silly little boys.
We went to the playground and played until dark.
Cute little boys.
You would think that after all their hard playing they would be ready for bed. But no.
But no. They came home and chased and trapped bugs with the bug vacuum Nathan got for his birthday. It's basically a dust-buster with a clear "bug chamber" so you can look at the bugs you suck up.
Then they jumped on the trampoline.
We have gotten our money's worth ten times over with this trampoline.
After breakfast the first they did was jump on the trampoline every morning.

Meissner Bed & Breakfast
April has been one very busy month for us. Who knew Montgomery was such an exciting place that everyone wanted to visit. We're glad they did though. Steve and Norm's friend from college, Stock, came down for a long weekend.
Two days after Stock left, Oma and Opa came for a few days for Nathan's birthday. Which, by the way, also included Aunt Ruth, Uncle Larry, Emma, Great Grandma Gerken, Uncle Joe, Aunt Lexi, Jessica, Paw-Paw, Lady, Mace, Norm, Shelly, and Reagan.
After Oma and Opa left, Chelsea and Parker came four days later. (More on their visit on another post.)
Just as Chelsea and Parker were loading up their car to leave, Paw-Paw pulled in. He spent the day with us on his way home from Florida.

Our next house guests we looked forward to were Matt, Deborah, Laura and Karl. (I will have a lot more on their visit in another post, as well.)
And Lady is coming on Wednesday. Now you can see why blogging hasn't been at the top of my "to do" list. Combine all this with a trip to Florida one weekend and it doesn't leave a whole lot of time for blogging. That's okay though, we like it. The more the merrier!

4th Birthday Continued
I can't believe it's been four years since I went to the hospital in South Dakota and picked Nathan out of all the other babies up for grabs. That's how he remembers it going down, anyway.
This is my little birthday boy sound asleep before I had to wake him up for school.
Paw-Paw was passing through town on his way down to Joe's house, so he spent the night so he could be here with Nathan on his actual birthday.
Nathan showed Paw-Paw around his school before Paw-Paw hit the road to Uncle Joe's house.
Vacuuming was like second nature to Kathryn. Probably because she sees me spending all my free time vacuuming up messes.

Blog Note
I'm so behind on blogging. Not to worry though. I'll catch everyone up on the month of April when time permits. We have had lots of fun and excitement!

4th Birthday Celebration
I asked Nathan if he wanted to go to Pump It Up for his birthday party, but he said that he would rather just invite all of his friends from school to his house. Since I'm not crazy enough to let that happen, we just went with a family gathering. That's actually a lot more fun for Nathan. It's actually a lot more fun for me too. The last thing I wanted was 20 kids at my house. So here it is. This is the party that Nathan has been talking about for months. He didn't wake up that morning "all the way big" like he thought he might, but that didn't stop him from enjoying the day.
Kathryn was there to help out and to try to grab everything away from Nathan as soon as he opened his gifts.
Nathan likes pictures of people on their cakes. The picture machine wasn't working at Publix, so we went with this picture of Nathan instead. He liked it just fine.
There's the birthday boy!
Aunt Ruth and Uncle Larry brought Cousin Emma with them.
Nathan had fun playing with Emma.

The Normans and New School Haggerty had some unfinished business they had to tend to. They both made it to the finals on during Paw-Paw's birthday party, but we ran out of time before they could play for the title. Here they are playing cornhole again.
Joe and Lexi won the cornhole tournament. They are quite the team when it comes to backyard recreation.

Nathan enjoyed all the attention of being the birthday boy.
For the rest of the party everyone just hung out.
