Boomba's First Day of School

We can't forget about our little Boomba's first day of school. She is so excited for school to start!
Here she is imitating Nate after watching him get annoyed at me taking his picture all week long.
Kathryn and I have only been to school once so far. Our first day was canceled due to the possible bad weather brought on from Hurrican Isaac. Which, by the way, never effected us.

Keeping Up With Kindergarten

Same content. New blog address. I'll start right where I left off with Meissnermania...

Kindergarten has been going great so far. Nate loves school and I love hearing about all the highs and lows of a day in kindergarten. Luckily, the lows are always about other kids. Nate is only one "golden behavior" slip away from getting to choose something from the treasure box. He likes the math toys and Lincoln Logs and enjoys sitting at the long lunch table in the cafeteria. He's well behaved and enjoys math. A perfect combination of Steve and me so far. I'm going to start volunteering in his classroom one morning a week. You didn't think I would be able to let go completely, did you? My kids are the entire reason I am a preschool teacher! I'm tagging along as long as I'm welcome!

Here he is on his first few days of school.
The "Baconater." He loves bacon.

There's his sweet look.
His typical look.
Fake smile.
A mad face. He was sick of me taking his picture before school every morning by this day.
Hahahaha! He didn't go to the bathroom all day at school so when we pulled in the driveway he couldn't hold it anymore! He jumped out and ran to the bushes!
I think we might have found the secret to a successful school year... Morning dance parties.

These kids love the horrible European techno music Steve discovered while deployed five years ago.

Lady's Visit Part 2

Lady enjoyed more Florida fun when we took her to open gym at the gymnastics place. Nate and Kate have been wanting to show this place off for a long time. They finally got to show it to Lady. We all agreed we would love to watch Jessica run loose here.
After gymnastics was a trip to the beach. We stopped at my favorite hamburger place in the entire world and had a little picnic at the beach.
Nate trying to be sweet, Kate not allowing it.
BFFs.
 Beach babes.
A little girl came over and asked Nate to play. They ended up having fun together and leaving Kathryn out. Serves her right for being so mean to him when he was just trying to put his arm around her for a picture.
 Mommy and babies.
That's not even half of the fun. More to come.

Swimsuit Season

Don't we all wish we liked wearing swimsuits as much as Kathryn. It's her daily attire of choice. Only the kind that show her armpits though. She won't wear those swim shirts anymore.
Not only is she proud of her armpits, but she also likes showing off her new shoes.
Kathryn and I went shopping for new swimsuits today and every suit I picked up she yelled, "I want that one! I want the blue one! I want the pink one!" And on and on until she had 5 new swimsuits. I'll have to get her response on video when asked why Daddy has to go to work. (Hint: nail polish and swimsuits)
Playing Kerplunk with Paw-Paw, Nate and me.
Accessories galore.
This black and white suit is her fave.
This outfit was put together after a day of shopping. She got a new shirt and a new swimsuit and wanted to wear both.
Discussing Mace's sleepy eyes and panting.

Lady's Visit Part 1

I'm finally getting around to posting about Lady's visit a few weeks ago. As I was looking back through the pictures I realized this is going to need to be split up into several posts. We packed a whole lot of fun into her visit. We took her to Destin Commons for some playground and water fun.

Water Day at School

On the last day of school we had water play day. My class went out with Kathryn's class so I was able to get a few pictures of her in action.

Purple Polish

We went to the beach today and as usual, Kathryn fell asleep on the way home. I always carry her inside and lay her down on her favorite corner spot on the couch. She usually sleeps for a couple of hours then. But not today. After my shower I met Nate in the hallway upstairs and he said, "I think Kathryn is doing something really bad." I rushed down the stairs and caught a whiff of nail polish. A two year old left unattended with nail polish has got to be one of the worst scenarios ever. It was bad, but could have been way worse.
Luckily we had a full bottle of nail polish remover.
It's amazing how she had access to the box of nail polish, but she only tried painting her nails with it. She's serious about her glamour.
Not bad for a two year old. It doesn't look much different than that when I do my own nails.
Carpet fuzz from the rug all stuck in her toes.
Like I said, it could have been waaaaay worse. This was all I had to clean up in the house.... I think. I hope.
