Tennis, Anyone?

Ever since we moved here, every time we drive by the tennis courts in our neighborhood Nathan asks me if I will take him to play tennis. He hasn't ever played before, so he watched as Uncle Joe and I competed against each other. Uncle Joe won, but one thing I'm trying to teach Nathan (against Steve's wishes) is that it doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you play the game and have fun. Steve hates that I'm trying to instill that thought process in Nathan.

Nathan was our ball boy. He chased those balls all over the court.
I haven't ever played and actually had someone chase the balls for me. It makes the game so much more enjoyable.
I took a break so that Paw-Paw could show Nathan his tennis skills. Not bad for a 60 year old man!
Nathan enjoyed his day at the tennis courts so much. Well, he enjoyed it until I started losing and I jokingly yelled, "Nathan, you're supposed to be bringing me good luck!!!" Nathan looked at me so upset and immediately said, "I'm sorry." Then he started crying. It was so sad. He got over it and decided that he still wants to give tennis a try. He's looking forward to playing tennis with Paw-Paw this weekend.

  1. I think tennis would definitely be more fun with someone else to chase and pick up the balls! Can we borrow Nathan for ball boy duty sometime? :)
