Rolling...In My 5.0

Okay, so it's not necessarily mine, but that's not stopping us from cruising around in it like it is. It's the perfect family car because there's no scrunching in to buckle kids in. I just fling them in over the side.

Today Kate and I ventured on over to Destin in the Mustang to do some shopping, followed up with a visit to the beach, then grabbed some lunch. It was the perfect girls' day out. I wouldn't dare let Nate know we had fun without him. He strictly forbids us from doing anything fun while he's away.
Here's Kathryn cruising along Old 98 after we went shopping. It may look familiar to some...
She just can't leave an unoccupied pair of shoes alone.
A trip to the beach isn't complete without a trip to the rinsing station. That's Kathryn's favorite part.
Excitedly waiting for her shrimp meal at the Crab Trap. She went up to the bar and placed her order, "I want some food."
Kathryn's current "thing" is to call ownership of everything. She makes sure I know toys, candy, vehicles, our house, everything belongs to her. As we were driving the Mustang she said, "This is mine car." I bet if she talked to Aunt Lexi she would agree to that. Uncle Joe would probably be a different story though.

Then it was time to pick Nate up from school. She was clearly worn out from our day together.

Nate likes riding in the Mustang because the kids in his class think he's cool because of it. A convertible is a convertible is a convertible to 5 year olds. The first time we drove it, all the kids stared as they were hanging out their sunroofs. We heard, "Cool car, Nate!" over and over. He doesn't usually like a whole lot of attention, but he couldn't help but smile that first day he showed up in it. (Yes, Kathryn is completely passed out in this picture. She stayed sleeping through the pick up line, the drive home, and even let me get her out and carry her to bed for a nap when we got home.)
I hope I didn't make this car look like too much fun so that Uncle Joe might try to get it back. We're giving it a good home here. There's no rush to take it back.
