We decided to squeeze in a last minute trip before school started this year. We went to Disney World. It was the kids first time and they loved every second of it. Nate even looked out the window and said the sky really is bluer at Disney World. Then it got even better when we walked into the hotel and they had kid sized chairs set up at a TV and Despicable Me was playing. That's when Nate said, "This is the best vacation ever." He hadn't even set foot in Magic Kingdom at that point.
There you go, it's all yours Nate.
Definitely an outside toy.
I got her these shoes for the trip to make her tall enough to ride the big rides.
I'm not sure how Kathryn didn't come home sick with all the germs she licked off her hands.
Teacups.
Ready for the Barnstormer.
The first night after we arrived we went to Downtown Disney. Nate came across a build your own light saber stand. Of course we couldn't walk out without a double sided light saber after seeing that.
The nice lady helped Nate put it together. There you go, it's all yours Nate.
Definitely an outside toy.
Kathryn chose this princess crown.
Then it became the nightly tradition to climb on this Mickey Mouse when we got back to the hotel. Then they would take off running through the halls to our room. We never got back before midnight so I don't know how they had so much energy. Oh wait, yes I do. They were pushed around all day.
The next day we introduced the kids to Magic Kingdom. It was definitely their favorite park. This is a hilarious clip of what my life is truly like. I have all these cute pictures of the kids, but I decided to take a video of all that goes into getting a good picture. Kathryn didn't want Nate to touch her for the picture. As seen here.
But here is where it gets funny. It's very Joe and Megan circa early '80s.
He knows exactly what he's doing to her. I can guarantee Joe has a proud grin right now.
So this is the picture we ended up with. Both sets of arms down.
Let the Magic Kingdom fun begin.

Ready for the Barnstormer.
The Barnstormer was Nate's favorite ride on the first night. We took advantage of no lines and rode it 4 times in a row during the 9 p.m. parade. Here is a video of how much he loved it. It was dark so you can't see anything, but even better is you can hear him laughing and screaming.
We have been keeping this baby stroller for years just for our Disney trip. I got rid of my double stroller when Kathryn learned how to walk so this baby stroller was all we had left and it was Nate's from infancy. I should have know better than to expect Nate to walk and let Kathryn ride in a stroller, but it ended up working out for a while at least. Until the weight was too much for the wheels to handle and it broke.
Of course it broke as soon as we rolled into the park. Luckily a nice stroller parking lot patrol lady saw Steve trying to get the wheel back on and comped us a double stroller for two days. That was so nice.
After that we bought two umbrella strollers to get us through the rest of the trip. It would have been impossible without them.
Thanks for letting us get a peek of your trip to Disney World. The video of Kate not letting Nate touch her was real funny. It did bring back memories.
ReplyDeleteMe and Nate just don't understand why our sisters won't let us be sweet to them.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. We all know what is really going on Joe! These kids crack me up, I can't wait to see them again!
