Nathan and I enjoyed a relaxing breakfast on his patio table again this morning.
After breakfast we did a little reading. He sits and listens to me read this book with a look of anticipation because he knows at the end Elmo pops up and we get to say "Soooo Big!"
Nathan got a new airplane today, just like Daddy flies.
Okay, maybe there are a few minor differences.

Dentist Recommended, Mommy Approved
What is the one thing that every 15 month old kid needs? If your answer wasn't a battery powered toothbrush that plays U Can't Touch This, then you're not up to speed with today's youth.
I thought that toothbrush was worthy of the top spot in today's blog. Now on with the rest of his day.
He had to earn that new airplane by helping me sweep the back patio.
It's a vicious cycle, I sweep then he plays in the dirt and I have to brush him off before he comes inside.
Uncle Joe, here is the rose bush you planted when you lived here. It's still going strong thanks to Nathan's TLC.

Birthday Celebration Part II
We met a few friends at Chili's tonight. We all rushed to get there before 6:00 for happy hour and once we got there we found out that happy hour lasts all day there. We were better off not knowing that. Good-bye Old MacDonald's Petting Farm, hello all day happy hour. Actually, it wasn't really as fun as it could have been. Nathan is a complete buzz kill when he slings a basket of fries on the floor and I have to rush to pick them up before anyone notices because Steve and I don't want to be those obnoxious parents that let their kids trash the place.
Nathan and Tyler are ready to get the party started.
"Okay Mama, I have the salt and the lime, where's the tequila?" I've always questioned the cleanliness of the condiments that are left on restaurant tables.
Just waking up from his afternoon nap. He had to rest up because he knew he was going to be out late, 8:00 p.m.
He got a new patio table and chairs today. I set it up in the living room and he ate his first dinner at it tonight. He ate his second dinner at Chili's.

Out with the Old, In with the New
Nathan's day started off with one of the worst things imaginable. His little red sports coupe broke. The handle broke on a walk two blocks from our house this morning. I had to lean over and push him back home. That was fun.

Tyler had enough of riding on the hood. He decided it was his turn to drive.
Nathan and Tyler took me to the playground for my birthday.
Nathan is looking around to make sure none of his friends saw him go down the slide with his mom. How embarrassing!
I definitely have my hands full with Nathan.
Tammy and Tyler also took us to Minerva's for my birthday. These boys tore up their smiley fries and devoured their hamburger.
One day they're climbing on cows, the next day they're eating them. They like cows any way they can get them.
There is a bright side to this story. He woke up from his nap with a brand new 2008 deluxe model waiting for him in the living room. (Steve went to work late, so I rushed to Toys R Us during Nate's nap.) This one has a way cooler horn, a cup holder, more trunk space and rubber tires so it's not so loud. The speedometer sticker even reads higher than his old red car. That definitely makes it cooler. He drove it to the playground today, and it was more of a hit with the kids than the playground equipment. Parents had to keep pulling their kids off and telling them that it's not their car. And then the parents had to explain to their kids that they don't love them as much as that little boys' parents love him, or else they would have a car too.
How did this happen, Nathan got a new car for my birthday? It was worth it just for the look of excitement on his face.
Posing next to his new car in his boxer shorts.
See, it's the deluxe model. It says it across the back.

Text messaging all of his friends and telling them about his new ride.Nathan is looking at Tyler and thinking, "Those jean shorts better not scratch my new car."

Sunny Sunday
We finally convinced Steve to quit working on the house for just one day to go out on the boat with Jeff, Tammy and Tyler. We're glad he gave in because it was so much fun. Tammy hooked Nathan and Tyler up with some cool new outfits that they needed to show off. They were quite the little studs sporting their matching surfer get-up.

Nathan and Daddy relaxing on the boat.
Nathan was especially excited to go.
"Okay, which key is it?"
"I've seen this done a million times. You just hold these up to the door knob and the door opens."
I wonder why people are always asking us if Nathan and Tyler are twins.

Mommy and Daddy riding Big Mable.
