After four days of being away from me, Nathan forgot who I was. Either that, or he just wasn't happy to see me. I quickly found a silver lining around the situation. This way, when Nathan wants something, I'm able to use Steve's line of, "Nathan only wants you." and continue with whatever I'm doing. I'm probably going to use this for as long as possible.
It didn't take Nathan long to make himself feel right at home. Mace made sure Steve felt welcome too.
Grandma, Grandpa, Steve, Mace, Hank and I took Nathan for a walk to the playground. He was so tired, but he insisted on playing. And so did Steve.

Guest Appearance by Cousin Emma
Nathan is still at Oma and Opa's house in Minnesota. So, this is Nathan's cousin, Emma. She is filling in for Nathan while he's away. Nathan's blog readers come to this sight to see cute pictures, so I'm here to deliver. Emma is 19 months old and some of her interests include: books, ABCs, Elmo and tea parties.
Today, Great Grandma Gerken (Emma Sr.) and I spent the afternoon playing with Emma. Jealous, Nathan?

Nothin' on Nathan
Nathan is still in Minnestoa so I don't know what's going on with him. In the meantime, enjoy some filler pictures of my other babies.

On the Road Again
We left Rapid City at 3 p.m. yesterday and arrived in Minneapolis at 2 a.m. Steve dumped me off at the airport and sped off with Nathan and hasn't looked back. My flight to Atlanta didn't depart until 5:30 a.m. so I got to hang out at MSP for 3 hours. Then I arrived in Atlanta at 9 a.m. and got a chance to hang out at the airport until 11:30 a.m. waiting for Dad to show up for his flight so I could drive his car home. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. This was the first time flying without Nathan so I was able to fall asleep. I woke up and panicked for a split second when I didn't feel him on my lap. Then I remembered Steve had him, then I really began to freak out. Just kidding.....sort of.
Here are some pictures from our road trip last night. Nathan is not a huge fan of car trips anymore. We went to Ruby Tuesday and let him eat and play in the booth. As you can see, he made some friends to play with. We had to stop a few times to let him play in the car too.
Here's Groggy Nate Doggy.

Hot Rod
Steve, Nathan and I took a break from packing and cleaning to hang out with some friends, better known as Saber's owners to our blog readers. Nathan and Tyler played together so hard tonight. It is so funny to watch them play together now because they actually interact with each other. Tonight's lesson was on sharing which also led to the lesson on fighting. It was so cute though. Nathan stole Tyler's cracker (not without Tyler grabbing it back a few times though). Nathan thought that he had the benefit of walking away with the cracker, but he failed to realize that Tyler is much faster in his walker than Nathan is on foot. Tyler chased him down, but before it got too ugly we got another cracker out.
As soon as Nathan saw Tyler's car, he hijacked it for the rest of the night. We have quite the car enthusiast on our hands. Below, Nathan is helping Tyler learn to walk by letting him push him around in his own car. What a good friend Nathan is!
Poor Tyler had to ride on the trunk of his own car! Nathan also enjoyed catching up on old times with Saber.

And here, Tyler is forcing Nathan to share the toys. They "played" tug-of-war with those donuts.
Nathan and I took Uncle Joe to the airport this morning for his flight home. Nathan sure did enjoy his company while he was here. I think Uncle Joe enjoyed Nathan's company just as much though. He didn't even gag when Nathan's poop overflowed from his diaper and got on him. That's saying a lot for Joe. We'll have to go visit Uncle Joe and Aunt Lexi in San Antonio.Hot Rod

Just Another Walk in the Park
Nathan woke up to another fun-filled day with Uncle Joe. They're best buds. Joe had so much fun at the park yesterday that he wanted to go back today. Somehow in this short visit, Nathan managed to wrap him right around his filthy little finger. Joe follows him around all over for as long as Nathan can stand it. Once we got home, Joe asked Nathan if he wanted to go to bed and he responded with a quick "Yes." Then he passed out in about 2 minutes. Nathan sure will miss Uncle Joe when he goes home tomorrow.
Nathan absolutely loves to be chased. This is what they spent the majority of the afternoon playing.
Nathan is showing off his lovely dandelion.
Nathan shares his toys with Uncle Joe.
Joe couldn't pass up an opportunity to pick on Nathan. He knows Nathan hates wearing his 'coon skin birthday hat, so of course he puts it on him.
Steve, Nathan and I have a lot of traveling ahead of us over the next couple of weeks. We're driving to Minnesota tomorrow to visit Steve's family, flying down to Georgia to visit my family, driving up to Tennessee to visit Eddie, Teresa, Chelsea, Cody and Parker, flying down to Miami for a day, then leaving for a cruise to the Bahamas. Nathan won't be part of that portion of travel. He gets to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. He has them wrapped around his grimy fingers too, so he'll definitely have more fun there. I know Steve and I will have more fun without him! Then, we'll finish the trip back in Minnesota for a few days before heading back home. Ugh, I'm worn out just typing all of it!
