The Fair

Steve has always loved the fair. He grew up going to the fair and has fond memories of the fair. I, on the other hand, was never taken to the fair because I was told it was gross. I didn't want to deprive my children of the great memories that I thought the fair might bring, so Steve and I have been taking them to the fair every location we live. My mom was right. The fair is disgusting. South Dakota to Alabama to Florida, the fair is gross. It has taken Steve this long to realize that the fair really is gross. He agreed that we don't have to go to anymore fairs. Our kids have their memories. It doesn't help that wristbands cost $20 each.
 Cute pictures.
I didn't get a wristband for myself so Steve got to go on all the rides that Kathryn wasn't big enough to go on herself.

After Steve had enough rides he couldn't take it anymore either and we let the kids go through the obstacle course about 10 times each to make us feel like we got our $100 worth of fair fun and food.
On the way out I was approached to join the local roller derby team.
Nate didn't help me out at all. As they were hounding me to join the team Nate was standing there telling me how cool it would be if I were one of them. That's the last time I wear my workout clothes out. I thought I would be okay going to a fair after the gym.

  1. Mother always knows best. I know we took you to one fair in Knoxville. Sorry you don't remember that fond memory. I wonder if Joe remembers i

  2. We went to the Pensacola Fair last year and it was as gross or maybe even more gross than the Tennessee Valley Fair. I was disgusted when I took Jessica on one of the rides and couldn't wait for it to be over. I always have high hopes though.
