Class Act

The excitement never seems to settle around here. On Monday Nathan's class took a trip to the pumpkin patch. It was just at the church down the street from our school so most of the parents joined the class for the pumpkin patch festivities.

But before I share those pumpkin patch pix, I have to show how Nate pumps himself before hitting the pre-k classroom.
That was in the drop-off line at school. Maybe I should get my windows tinted if this becomes a morning routine.

Here is Nate and his class enjoying some pumpkin patch activities.
They made pumpkins out of toilet paper.
You can see arts and crafts aren't really his thing.
Then they had story time.
Nate grabbed the camera and took a bunch of pictures of himself.
He took a lot of pictures of Kathryn too.
So did I.
I can't resist taking tons of pictures of her. She's going through a phase of big smiles for the camera now.
Kathryn had fun climbing all over the pumpkins while Nathan was busy with his class activities.
I couldn't resist dressing Kathryn up as a mini-me on T-shirt Tuesday at school.

Blog Follower

As I was looking at Emma & Andrew's blog, Kathryn couldn't help but over hear Andrew's fabulous motorboat skills. She immediately rushed over to check it out. This was about the fifth time watching the video. She couldn't get enough of it.
Thanks for the great entertainment Andrew!

A Niceville Visit

Nathan and Kathryn gladly hosted a weekend of fun with Aunt Lexi and Jessica while Uncle Joe and Paw-Paw took a boys' trip to NYC. Lexi thought it might be a good idea to have people around her considering the fact that she's super pregnant and about to pop any minute. I think the best part about their trip in Nathan's opinion was getting to ride in their minivan.
My cars just don't compare to a minivan with automatic doors and row after row of seating. Nathan might join in the praises of minivans with the other moms at soccer now.

And we definitely can't compete with a minivan with a DVD player. My kids really got a kick out the luxurious ride Jessica takes for granted everyday.

A trip to the grocery store.
I thought Destin Commons would be a nice break for Lexi, but it turns out it wasn't. Jessica was the only kid on the playground trying her hardest to escape. (Far right.)
Again, Jessica trying to escape while her pregnant mommy chased her.
Nathan thought that Jessica and Lexi would like to check out The Track.
So sweet of him... always thinking about other people's enjoyment.
The spinny things were Jessica's favorite.

Jessica rode the airplanes with Nathan.
There isn't a very secure strap keeping them in. If Jessica decided to jump out she would have easily been able to. We instructed Nathan to keep a hold of her and to not let her loose for any reason. He can definitely be counted on. He had his arm around her so tightly!
Nathan decided he would rather ride the airplanes again while Jessica rode the train. He assured me the backseat was a good place to ride too.
Then we got the riding toys out.
Kathryn drove Jessica around in her new hand-me-down F-150. She doesn't have steering down yet, but she knows how to push the pedal.

Aunt Lexi and Jessica sitting on the front porch enjoying the beautiful weather.
Nate got the camera.
As Nate was taking pictures he got a picture of me getting on to Boomba for walking through our sandy yard. Steve is getting the yard ready to sod that's why it looks like it does.

Beatles Mania Continued

Here is an addition to the Beatles post. He set up his drums in the backgroud to be like Ringo and then this crazy Beatles fan rushed him.

Beatles Mania

All these local outings have been fun, but not quite fun enough. Nathan came up with a better and more exciting idea... he would like to go visit Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr sometime soon. He really would like go sing with them on stage. Then he wants to figure out a way to bring John Lennon and George Harrison back to life. I know this story seems really off the wall and made up, but it's completely true. Paw-Paw introduced The Beatles to Nate so we have some serious Beatles Mania going on here.

A few weeks ago Nate was at school working on a worksheet at the table and singing "Hey Jude" to himself. His teacher went over and asked him if he liked The Beatles so that sparked a whole conversation and they sang some of it together. Then his teacher had to explain to the rest of the class about a band called "The Beatles" because none of the other 4 and 5 year olds knew what they were talking about.

Against Lady's wishes, Ringo is Nate's favorite. She's trying to convince Nate that his fave should be Paul. He's not biting though. He wants to learn to play the drums like Ringo. He likes Ringo so much that he has requested to be Ringo Starr for Halloween. Here he is getting his Beatles fix before school.
If you don't get anything else from this video you'll at least get a craving for brownies.
And then we have Boomba...
She's not into riding in a stroller anymore... which sucks. She walks from store to store, but takes her shoes off when she gets inside the store. Every store, every time. She was dancing barefoot in Saks while I perused the Juicy sale rack. That's what we do while Nate is in school.

Shop 'til You Drop

After Paw-Paw and Nathan abandoned Kathryn yesterday I took her shopping with me. I wasn't sure how it was going to go because she usually turns into a grump. I quickly realized the reason for her turning grumpy and whiny is because her brother constantly picks on her. She was so pleasant and fun to hang out with without Nathan in the picture. He really brings out the worst in her.

Every time we left a store with a bag Kathryn stood out front and got whatever it was we bought out of the bag and carried it around until we bought something new. Here she is outside one of her favorite stores, Bath & Body Works. She could spend an entire day putting lotion and hand sanitizer on.

Check out Kathryn's shoppping style.
As you can see Kathryn didn't take my advice and chose to carry her three new bottles of lotion and hand sanitizer.

Pensacola with Paw-Paw

I have to put a link up to JAJA's blog. That's my new name for Joe, Lexi (Alexis), Jessica & Allison so I don't have to write out all their names. Paw-Paw took Nate to Pensacola to visit JAJA. Click here to see what fun they had.
