Shop 'Til You Drop

Grandma and Nathan hit the mall to get a little Christmas shopping done. That was about as successful as you probably imagine it being. She got one item purchased. The rest of the time was spent chasing Nathan, but that's what she enjoys most. She'll just end up sending me out to do her shopping, as usual.
Picking out a new winter wardrobe.
Does this size 4T hat make my head look big...because it fits perfectly?
I was serious about the title of this post. He thinks it's so funny to see Grandma's reaction when he drops to the floor and rolls around. Grandma gets so embarrassed and tries to get him up as fast as she can and he just laughs and laughs.
Nathan took a few bites of a pancake this morning, then decided that wasn't really what he was in the mood for. I offered him a piece of his cold pizza that he made at school and he gladly accepted.
Nathan got some cuddle time in with Mica after school.

Thanksgiving Feast

Today at school, Nathan's class had a Thanksgiving party. The mommies joined them for the Thanksgiving feast. This wasn't your typical Thanksgiving feast, it was even better. We had homemade pizza prepared by Nathan and his classroom pals. They enjoyed eating it, but Ms. Tiffany said they enjoyed making it even more. Not only is pizza delicious, but it's also a learning tool. If you ask Nathan what shape his piece of pizza is, he'll tell you it's a "rangle."
Nathan is thankful for Pringles....
...and Oreos. And I'm thankful for wet wipes. Ms. Tiffany sang the Oreo's jingle...O-R-E-O, then Nathan sang his version, O-O-O-O.
After the party, Ms. Dana handed Nathan his work of art. He ran up to me with his little arm out in front of him carrying his masterpiece. I gushed over how much I loved it and you could see how proud he was of himself.
After we got home from school, I decided to give Nathan the opportunity to show me some of his culinary skills. We made some muffins together. His favorite part was dipping the spatula in the milk then licking it and saying with great enthusiasm, "mmmm."

This morning before we went to school, we packaged up Daddy's care package and decorated it with stickers. He's sure to love it, thanks to Nathan's finishing touches.

A Little of This, A Little of That

We had a hodge-podge of activities to keep us occupied today. Grandma and Nathan and I started our day off with a trip to Barnes and Noble for a presentation by the Towne Lakes Arts Center, "The Lazy Elves." There was quite a turnout for the show. Nathan enjoyed it, but the part he loved most was getting to clap after each skit. That definitely put us in a Christmas mood.

After the show, we went to Cheeseburger Bobby's for lunch. As usual, Nathan was the main source of entertainment for most of the surrounding tables.

After our busy morning, Grandma sent me all over creation looking for a specific present for Uncle Joe. (Which, by the way, he's going to love and if he doesn't love it, it means he has no sense of style.) I gladly accepted that task because that meant Grandma and Grandpa were responsible for taking Nathan to his hair appointment. I will gladly sit in Atlanta traffic all afternoon if that means I don't have to be part of the dreaded hair cutting. Nathan went to a kids' salon, so I figured at least one person there would be able to cut a misbehaving toddler's hair. I was wrong. Worst haircut ever, but I guess it's okay since hat season is upon us.

Okay, okay...here is the new 'do.
We went to a Japanese steakhouse tonight for dinner. We thought Nathan might enjoy watching his food being cooked. (He's a chef-in-training, you know. He made pancakes at school on Thursday and before that he made pumpkin pie.) Not only did he love watching as our food was being cooked, but he also loved the food. Nathan and our hibachi chef hit it right off. As our chef said, they were homeboys. Let's hope Nathan doesn't try any of his tricks next time he's cooking at school. Nathan kept warning him of the dangers of the cooktop. He kept pointing to the steam and saying, "hot." The best part of the night was when our chef did the "unun" (onion) volcano and Nathan was so shocked that he let out a huge gasp, then choked on his bite of fried rice.

Nathan is incredibly fascinated with counting now. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that he inherited that trait from Steve. Here we are counting together on our hands.
