Another Mouth to Feed

Yesterday, Nathan noticed the fish floating in the hand soap pump. I asked him if he wanted a fish and of course he responded with, "Otay." So after we took care of some house business, we went to Petco to pick out Nathan's very own pet.

We both liked the purple fish because it looked different from all the others, but as we were heading to the register to pay for it I quickly realized that we don't want a fish that looks too unique. You know, just in case it needs to be secretly replaced. I gave Nathan the full responsibility of naming the newest member of our family. After he seriously contemplated naming him Sponge Bob (because of the box of Sponge Bob mac and cheese on the counter beside the fish bowl), he changed his mind and decided to call him Shine. I don't know where he came up with that name, but it's a pretty good one.

We'll see how long this fish lasts, considering I caught him holding the fish bowl up to his face as he watched it from every angle.
