I have a lot to blog about, but there aren't enough hours in the day to do it all. We had an awesome Haggerty Christmas with Paw-Paw and Lady, Uncle Joe, Aunt Lexi, Jessica and of course, Mace. Last year's Christmas chairs are still a big hit with the kids, so Paw-Paw and Lady got Jessica her very own chair. Here is our attempt at a picture of the kids and their chairs. It didn't turn out like I wanted initially, but this way captured the moment more accurately.

Daddy's Day
Steve has been so busy with school and hasn't had a lot of time to spend with the kids lately. His last day of school until January was last Friday, so he decided he would like to spend the day hanging out with the kids. In my mind, when I take the kids out for a kids' day it means going to places like the park or Chuck E. Cheese or somewhere like that. Steve took the kids to Home Depot and Lowes and.....
When Kathryn grows up to become Hooters waitress we can thank her daddy.
Nathan came home talking about, "Those guys at the restaurant (he calls everyone 'guys') didn't wear long pants and I saw their butts." Not to worry, I only let Steve have the children all to himself once or twice a year.

Oh Fudge!
I sat Kathryn at the table and gave her some mac & cheese for dinner. I was doing stuff in the kitchen while she ate. She was being good for a lot longer than normal, so I checked on her. I guess I left the box of fudge and chocolate covered pretzels a little bit too close to her.
Gone. Every bit of it.

Preschool Christmas Party
Nathan and Kathryn had parties on the last day of school. Kathryn dressed festively for her party, once again thanks to Lady. I put a request in for jumpers for every holiday.
I snuck out of my class to join Nathan at his party for a little while. I joined him during their snack-making activity. They mixed their own Chex mix in this paper bag.
Then they ate it. Quite the party. They did some other stuff, but I missed it. Lady asked me how Nathan's party and singing went. When I told her I didn't get to see it so I don't have pictures or video of it, she yelled, "WHAT?!? How did you miss it???!!!" I wonder if she used to get that upset when she missed mine and Joe's school programs. Doubt it.

Spreading Holiday Cheer
Last Christmas Nathan was old enough to be excited and understand somewhat about Christmas, but this is the first year that he can really, really get into the Christmas spirit. He's been digging around the mounds of presents surrounding the tree and asking about each one. I love it. He is so excited about getting to open presents for Jesus' birthday. He's looking forward to opening lots of stuff, but he's also super excited to get to give people gifts. What a sweetheart!
Every night, "Mommy who does this one say?"
Only 9 days left 'til Christmas!
Every night, "Mommy who does this one say?"
We got in the Christmas spirit by visiting Santa. Nathan went along with it because he knows that's what he's supposed to do, but you could see he knows the real deal. Daddy goes to work so Mommy can buy him and Baby Sister lots of stuff. Santa asked Nathan what he wanted for Christmas and Nathan looked over at me and told me, "I really do want that T-Rex." He's been telling me several times a day, every day for the past two weeks that he wants a T-Rex. He wanted to make sure I knew also because he didn't want to rely solely on that strange man. He's too smart for his own fun.
I took pictures of the pictures of the kids with Santa. Nathan had a look on his face like this whole thing was stupid, but he went along with it to make me happy.
Kathryn was all smiles when I was holding her. She was really enjoying Santa's company until I handed her over to him. She gave "that look" right before a huge cry let out. It was to be expected and hilarious.Last Christmas the kids were off the hook with visiting with Santa thanks to Kathryn being a newborn in the middle of a freezing cold South Dakota winter. That picture is the first of many crying with Santa pictures. Here are Nathan's previous years Santa pictures, 2007 & 2008.
I don't know why I find these so funny.
I can't believe we're about to add a ridiculous amount of new toys to our already ridiculously large collection of toys. Kathryn is still enjoying her new stuff from her birthday.I don't know why I find these so funny.
