Nathan is going to be so excited when he gets the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom DVD for Christmas so he doesn't have to watch it on YouTube anymore. He went from refusing to acknowledge that letters existed to pointing out letters on everything because of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. He's a quick learner, but only when he finds the material interesting. There is no way around it, having Steve and me as his parents he is genetically predisposed to the "learning things sucks if it requires too much effort" gene.
Nathan painted an airplane ornament again this year. Maybe this is going to become our Christmas tradition. We've done it two years in a row.Apparently Kathryn let her bottle leak on her head while she napped. Either that or rats snuck in her room and styled her hair. Both possibilities are very likely.
I was organizing Nathan and Kathryn pictures when I found this one (Nathan 15 months old). I showed it to Nathan and asked him who it was. He responded, "Oh that's Baby Jesus crying." I knew he thought highly of himself, but I was unaware to what extent.
Kathryn is having a blast playing with all the Christmas toys. She loves the Little People Nativity set.
She is in love with this singing reindeer stocking too. I sent this stocking to Steve a couple of years ago while he was deployed over Christmas. Now Steve has flashbacks from the war every time we turn it on.... "Oh no! I only get 3 beers a day and I have to sleep on a comfy memory foam mattress!"
This is her level of excitement still after about the fourth time I turned the reindeer on. You can imagine how excited she is when she hears it the first time.Steve had his heart set on Kathryn evening out the household teams. He thought for sure Kathryn was going to be on his side. Wrong! She's started this thing where she'll be looking all around and laughing, then she'll look at Steve and give him a dirty look. Not just once or twice. All the time.
Each morning Kathryn goes into school carrying a sock in each hand. The first thing she does in her car seat is pulls her socks off. Then she likes holding them. She has a thing for carrying socks around. She finds Nathan's dirty socks on the floor and carries them around the house too. In pictures if you ever see her barefoot in the middle of winter that's why. Here she is getting mad that she can't get her footed sleeper off her feet. I got the camera late in her struggle, so you only get to see the tail end. (In case you were wondering, Nathan said he has food for me. It sounds like he says he has "poop" for me, but he's saying "food.")
It's been fun, but maybe it's time to move out of Alabama.
If you can't tell by now. Everything, both good and bad, requires screams and squeals from Baby Sister. She's getting excited over Steve vacuuming. This is hilarious. She realizes how close she had come to knocking her half tooth out on the table.
Great blog! I have very funny grandchildren. Lady
