Nathan didn't have to do this, but here they check for anemia before getting off of formula and switching to milk. It's a good idea, but I really hated going through the process of taking blood from a 12 month old baby's arm. I had to be the one to restrain her while the lab technician filled a vial of her blood while she screamed. I must have not hidden how uncomfortable that made me because they kept asking me if I was okay and asking me if I needed to sit down for a while before I left. It was bad enough watching her give blood when she was a newborn with jaundice, but her knowing what's going on now really made it hard. Then we went to get her immunizations, but I waited with mad, tired, screaming baby for 30 minutes with no signs of progression with the waiting list, so we left. We'll have to go back another day for the rest of the fun.
Here are some pictures of her battle wound to tug at your heartstrings.
Bandaged bathing beauty.
Still the smiliest baby ever even with half of her blood missing.
Here are some pictures of my little big girl getting ready for school this morning.
She tries brushing her hair with just about anything with a handle now. She uses her play food knives and spatulas as hairbrushes too. It's so cute. She brushes from the bottom up.
Perfection.
This is Nathan's new funny thing to do after baths now. I'm telling you, he's a comedian (in his own mind).

Uggghhh, I hate needles anywhere near the babies! I know your pain. Jess had her 6 month check up on Monday and it wasn't pretty either. BTW Nathan is hilarious.
