Science!

I bought a family pass to the Emerald Coast Science Center because Nate is reaching the age/stage where he needs to know the details about how things work. He doesn't accept the explanation of "that's just the way it is" anymore. Not only did Nate enjoy it, but Kathryn loved it as well. I might have a couple of scientists on my hands.

They experienced hurricane strength winds. I took Kathryn to the Science Center a couple days earlier and she kept talking about how cool it was, so of course, Nate needed to experience it too.
As much as he didn't like it the first time, he wanted to do it again.
The air string harp was a hit.
With both of them.
Kathryn's favorite part is the reptile area.
Steve's reaction as he was watching this video was the best part! If you listen to what the kids say you can imagine his reaction.
Nate stood here creating lightning forever. He was fascinated by this display.
Working on gears.
He was so serious about working on gears that when a kid came up and took one from him he told him to give it back and told him he had to wait. He's assertive when he needs to be.
Here are some pictures from Kathryn's first visit by herself.

We still have a lot more territory that needs to be explored, so we'll be going back plenty!

  1. I bet Uncle Joe is envious that Nathan and Kathryn got to investigate all those neat things at the Science Museum. I'll have to make a trip there myself.

  2. That video of Nate in the wind machine was hilarious. You could tell he was sort of having fun but very nervous about everything that was happening.

  3. I love the way Kathryn is acting in the video of the wind machine. So calm, like she's out for a Sunday drive. I love how Nathan used his whole body to play the air harp. Great blog.
