GA Vacay

I realized we haven't been to Paw-Paw and Lady's house since October and it's only three hours away, so the kids and I took a short little vacation there one weekend. When we got there, their house was all clean and the toys were put away. Nathan wandered around until he went up to Paw-Paw and asked, "What's there to do here?" Paw-Paw and Lady usually have the toys setting out before we get there. Then Paw-Paw brought out everything he thought the kids might like and before we even realized it, the house was a disaster.

Paw-Paw brought up a bunch of old board games from a long, long time ago. Nathan wanted to play Clue because he thought it was something like Blue's Clues. He settled on Operation.
Practicing to be a surgeon.
Then they played Candy Land.
Lady and I painted animal bobble heads with him.
Nathan had more fun directing the painting than actually doing the painting.

Great Grandma Gerken came over one night to visit with us.

Bag lady with a shopping cart.
These pictures capture Mace and Kathryn's relationship. When she's not paying him attention, he's trying to get her attention.
But then when she is paying him attention he acts like he doesn't like it.
No one has ever bothered to inform Mace that he's not a little lap dog.
We all took turns pushing Kathryn around the house in the shopping cart. If only she would be this happy when I'm pushing her around in the shopping cart at the grocery store. She lasts about five minutes in the cart at the store before she starts trying to climb out.

We always go to Marietta Pizza Co. It's probably the best pizza place ever.

Just ask double fisting, pizza crust eating Kathryn.
Definitely Steve Meissner's kid.

Steve couldn't make the trip, but he made sure the trip to Georgia wasn't wasted. He sent me to his favorite beer store with a beer list.
Hugs are one of Kathryn's least favorite things.

Paw-Paw took Nathan to Marietta Square to play on the train playground while Lady and I went shopping with Kathryn. Shopping with Kathryn is great for your bank account. She doesn't allow you to shop for too long.





Kathryn still isn't walking. Lady's magical walker must have ran out of magic because Kathryn didn't start walking after using it.

I made an observation during this trip. I believe Paw-Paw has laughed more in the past three years than he has in the previous 20 years. EVERYTHING Nathan does or says results in a genuine belly laugh from Paw-Paw.
