Pampered by Paw-Paw

Nathan started getting a high temperature Monday afternoon (after having an ear infection two weeks ago). I was afraid his ear infection came back, so I took him to the doctor on Tuesday. Thinking he was going to be out of school for the rest of the week again (which means Kathryn and I are out of school too), I called Paw-Paw and asked him what he was doing this week. All Paw-Paw needed to hear was "Nathan is sick" and he was on his way. He dropped everything and arrived at our house that evening. Nathan took a strep and flu test, but they came back negative. His blood work came back normal too. Paw-Paw nursed him back to health.

Here, Nathan and Paw-Paw are sitting up waiting for the sun to come up. That was around 8 p.m. That's Nathan's newest thing. I think he made it until about 9 p.m.
Nathan skipped school on Wednesday. Paw-Paw must have worked some magic that morning because Tuesday night he had a temperature of 105, but by Wednesday afternoon he was back to 100%.

Nathan went to school on Thursday while Paw-Paw stayed home and got some work done (because I'm sure he wasn't all that productive Wednesday morning). Paw-Paw surprised Nathan and Kathryn after school when he showed up at school to drive them home. He peeked in and watched them in action for a few minutes before he went in their classrooms. It's so much fun to watch them play when they don't know they're being watched. Of course, when they got home Paw-Paw had a sweet treat waiting for them.
Kathryn didn't want to go to bed while Paw-Paw was here. She was too afraid she was going to miss something at the Paw-Paw party. She's no dummy. She knows that if she's not around, Nathan is getting all Paw-Paw's attention. Here she is the past two mornings when I went in to wake her up.
As I was watching her sleep this morning I decided that she doesn't even look sweet and innocent when she's sleeping. She is a feisty and funny little girl!

  1. Paw Paw to the rescue! I hope Nathan is feeling better. I hate hearing that he wasn't feeling good. I miss those two mischief makers.

It's nice that PawPaw can help out while Lady goes to the office. I'm just a little envious. Lady.
