Minnesota Christmas and New Year

Our Christmas company left our house the day after Christmas as we left for Minnesota. We flew out of Atlanta so that we could have a nonstop flight. Nonstop flights are a necessity when flying with Kathryn. She's much better in the car than she is on a plane.

We started our Minnesota visit off with a trip to Steve's cousin's house to celebrate her son's second birthday. Nathan got to play with Karl while there. If you remember, Karl is the coolest kid in the world as far as Nathan is concerned.
This is Xavier, the birthday boy.
We had two worn our kids on the drive back to Oma and Opa's house.
Nathan was looking forward to getting to play in the snow.
Getting ready to brave the Minnesota cold.
Nathan under lots and lots of layers.
Nathan lived in South Dakota for three years without ever wanting to play in the snow. We moved away just as he got old enough to see the fun in it.
Opa took Nathan sledding.
Oma and Nathan.
In this picture, Nathan looks like an old picture of Joe.
Nathan spent lots of time fish watching.
Kathryn being Kathryn.
We went to Steve's cousin's house to sing Christmas carols. I'm not much of a singer, so I hung out in the kitchen with my fellow non-singers.
We celebrated Christmas and New Year's Eve with the Meissner side of the family while were back. Here the cousins are playing pass the present. This was Nathan's first year to actually participate.
Nathan and Kathryn got nutcrackers from Oma and Opa.
An attempt at a cousin picture.
Kathryn is always on the move.
