A Day with Ray-Ray

Yesterday, Nathan babysat his future wife, Reagan (aka Ray-Ray. She was born in Alabama so we gave her a southern nickname.). He has already decided to marry her and even asked her daddy if it was okay for them to get married. He said, "Mr. Norm, is it okay if I marry Reagan?" He agreed to it, so there you have it. One less thing for Nathan to have to worry about when he's older.

How could any girl resist this?

Funny story about "Islands in the Stream." Steve and I thought it was a funny song to sing so when Nathan was a baby and started to cry on all of our many, many road trips, Steve and I played "Islands in the Stream" loud and Nathan stopped crying and listened. I didn't realize that song would stick with him for years to come and that he would one day sing it to his girlfriend at the age of 3.

What's Kathryn's favorite car song? "Rocky Top," of course!

  1. I laughed so hard I had tears! Oh Nathan, you are quite the catch with those crooning abilities. Thank you for making my day :)

  3. Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton couldn't sing that song better than Nathan.

  4. Just have to share that when Uncle Larry and I visited in Nashville a long time ago, we recorded a duet of "Islands in the Stream" at one of those do it yourself recording studios. If anyone has a cassette player you can hear our rendition as well, as long as you have a sense of humor.

    Love,
    Aunt Ruth
