Notice his "I love my mummy!" shirt. It was cute the first time around.
Not so cute the second time around. (Actually the third time because Kathryn wore it too.)
Nathan spilled his ABC's & 123's all over himself, so Steve thought he would be a helpful husband and change Nathan's clothes for me. I heard them struggling to get the shirt over Nathan's head, but I didn't think too much about it. When I saw Nathan I literally fell out of my chair laughing. Steve had no idea what was so funny. He was looking at the exact same thing as I was, but he didn't notice anything strange. This shirt was put away in the "outgrown clothes" drawer after Kathryn wore it last Halloween. It's the bottom drawer in Nathan's dresser, so naturally, Steve went digging through that drawer to find a shirt. He has no idea where Nathan's clothes are, or anything else in the house for that matter. I put the outgrown clothes in the bottom drawer until I get enough to make it worth digging out the Rubbermaid bin in the attic. I'm not even going to address the backwards pants rolled down at the waist with the tag sticking out the front. I have to be at a conference at 7:30 a.m. this week, so it's going to be up to Steve to get both kids dressed and off to school one morning. I'm a little concerned about what my kids are going to show up at school looking like, but at the same time I can't wait to see it.
I would like to say a few things in my defense: First, Nate has a big melon, so it's not that unusual to struggle getting a shirt on him--although I will admit this one was tougher than most. Second, who keeps a shirt in his dresser that he outgrew three years ago? Third, that's the last time a pick out a shirt just because it says something nice about Mommy--I was just trying to earn brownie points...I'll take a hit on the pants--Nate was in a silly mood and I considered it a victory just to get his pants on him, even if they were on backwards. They were a little long, so I rolled them up to make it easier for him to run...That is all,

...and that's why I always lay out the kids' clothes for school the next day when I have to work and won't be there to check on their outfits. You should see some of the get-ups the kids have on during the weekends I work! I do have to give a shout-out to Matt though--yesterday I had chosen a shirt with a big butterfly on it for Laura to wear to school, and Matt had put in her matching butterfly earrings! It took a lot of practice, but he's getting the hang of this matching thing. Don't worry, Steve. You'll get there too :)
