Nathan may not have the South Dakota Air and Space Museum to visit anymore, but we certainly don't have a shortage of airplanes to look at here. We ventured down to base today to check them out. Nathan noticed there weren't any B-1s and thought that maybe Daddy could get one to add to their collection. We'll run it by Steve and see if he can pull any strings. It was really hot, so we didn't get to look at all of them. We'll definitely be back for several more visits once it cools off.
I tried telling Nathan about what the first airplanes were like, but he didn't want to have anything to do with this Wright Monument. He doesn't care to know anything about the history of aviation, he just knows he wants to fly something cool one day, like the B-2. Steve tries so hard to make Nathan love the B-1, but Nathan has his heart set on the B-2.
Checking out all these new jets.
Enjoying the shade of the jet.
Kathryn had fun looking at airplanes today too. I think the heat wore her out because she's been sleeping all afternoon.

Backyard Paradise
We don't exactly have the pool set up properly. We don't mind though. It's supposed to stand 30" high, but Steve got frustrated, so it's lopsided and holds about 6" of water. We're not messing with the pump and filter either. We all just agreed not to pee in the pool. I wonder if Kathryn is keeping her promise
Baby Sister boating.
The water gets chilly overnight, so we add some hot hose water to the pool for Baby Sister.
Kathryn got some new hair bows. She can wear one to match each outfit now.

9 Month Check-Up
Nathan and I took Kathryn to the doctor for her 9 month well-baby check-up yesterday. Everything is great except she hasn't developed the fear of strangers like she's supposed to. The doctor took her away from me and expected her to get scared and cry, but instead she gave one of her priceless smiles. Typical Kathryn. The doctor said she can tell Kathryn gets lots and lots of love and attention at home. Talk about understatement. She's the queen bee around here.
It looks like my little girl isn't quite as hefty as she looks. She weighs 18 lbs. 11 oz (42%) and is 27.5 inches tall (40%). She's following in the Haggerty footsteps with a head circumference of 77% though! That's my girl!
The doctor asked me if she likes dairy products, such as cheese. I didn't know because I never gave her cheese before. So, today I gave her some cheese and she thought that it was absolutely yummy. Then I decided to give her some chicken. She thought that was delicious too. Here she is enjoying her lunch of Cheerios, chicken and cheese. No wonder she's so chubby!
Still practicing with a sippy cup.

We went to Target last night and came home with a new bubble blowing gun. This one works great because you never have to dip it. The bottle of bubbles is attached.
Kathryn loves it too.
Kathryn loves it too.
I informed Nathan that it was for both him and Kathryn to share. I guess this is how Nathan shared it with her. Ughhhhhh, big brothers are so annoying!
I'm not sure if pictures can get anymore redneck than this. A baby outside in a diaper while her daddy puts together the trailer park pool. It's a 10 ft. wide 2 ft. deep pool able to be enjoyed by the whole family. It's pretty high class. It's only a matter of time before someone in the neighborhood complains about their redneck neighbors in the cul-de-sac. Until then, I'm going to work on my tan.
Nathan is back in full swing with the cars again. He picks up each car and asks me if I like it and if I want to drive it. I have to tell him yes and then tell him where I want to drive it. Let me remind you, he has over 250 cars, so that game gets a little bit old sometimes. That's when Paw-Paw and Lady come in. I can't be on the phone with them without Nathan asking for the phone. I put them on speaker and he talks to them and plays with them as if they are sitting right next to him. Last night Paw-Paw and Lady talked about cars for 35 minutes, then Nathan "took" Paw-Paw to his room to read some books before bedtime. Luckily, it's all activities they do frequently so they have the books and cars memorized.

Dogless Days of Summer
Paw-Paw and Lady got home from the beach Friday evening, then jumped back in the car Saturday morning for a quick Alabama visit. They were only here for a little more than 24 hours, but we managed to pack in a whole lot of fun in that short amount of time.
While we were out, Nathan and Kathryn had fun playing with their grandparents.
Nathan likes driving down this road. Unfortunately for me, his feet don't reach the pedals yet, so I end up pushing him back up the driveway each time.
Just thought I would share this picture. It's pretty impressive how big of a mess she can make with biter biscuits.
Steve and I went to dinner and to a Montgomery Biscuits minor league baseball game. We didn't know it, but it happened to be Auburn/Alabama night. I accidentally wore Alabama's exact crimson color shirt. I felt dirty wearing another school's color and wanted to have an explanation put up on the giant screen that I'm really not an Alabama fan, I just didn't know it was Auburn/Alabama rival night.
While we were out, Nathan and Kathryn had fun playing with their grandparents.
Nathan made Paw-Paw and Lady watch a couple of movies, Monsters, Inc. and Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties.
Nathan kept remembering everything he needed to show Paw-Paw and Lady before they could leave. Nathan grabbed this book for him and Paw-Paw to read one more time because the 15 other times just wasn't quite enough. Then he remembered he had some tattoos that he needed to put on Paw-Paw and Lady before they could leave too.
As they were packing up to leave, Nathan was yelling at them not to take Mace as he cried, "Mace needs to stay at my house! No, don't take him!" It was so sad. He's really grown to love Mace over the past couple of months. One evening, Nathan and I were walking Mace when I yelled at Mace to come on. (He sniffs everything.) Nathan scolded me for yelling at Mace. His exact words were, "Mommy, don't yell at him. Mace is perfect." I guess he's heard me say something similar to that to Steve once or twice. After that, Mace was allowed to sniff everything for as long as he wanted because Nathan said so.
In this particular picture he was crying over Mace, but he cries when he has to say good-bye to Paw-Paw and Lady now too. It's so sad.
Reminiscing about old times with Mace.
Mace looks very appreciative of Nathan sharing his blanket with him in Alabama in August.
Nathan stole the spatula for the frosting and licked all over it. Luckily Mace was there to help clean him up.
Then Baby Sister shared her green beans with him. She gets such a kick out of feeding him.
No matter how hot it was outside, Mace chose to suffer through it as long as we were out there.
Baby Sister likes sidewalk chalk now too. She actually likes to eat it.
