High school football down here in the south is a big deal. Steve took Nate to a game a few weeks ago and they both loved it so Kate and I joined them last Friday. It was a lot of fun. Nate has his mind set up that he's going to play football when he's big. He's got it all planned out. First he told me I wasn't allowed to come watch him because he won't need me there because he'll be a big kid. I got sad and he gave in and told me that I could come as long as I sit all the way up at the top and don't yell, "Yay Nate!" People don't need to know I'm his mom and he's not going to wave to me either. He was brutal that night, but I can't say I didn't see this day coming. I just thought it would be years down the road before he realized I'm not as cool as I tell him I am. He ran into a kid from his class at school so he ditched us to hang out on the first row with his buddy without any parents around to cramp their style.
