If You're Happy and You Know It.......

Nathan got a new Disney CD with some pretty cool songs on it. His absolute favorite is "If You're Happy and You Know It....." He joined right in on the clapping and stomping his feet. He's definitely happy and he knows it. What kid wouldn't be happy with his life? He wouldn't yell "Hooray," but he sure did think it was funny when Daddy and I yelled it. Who knew we would have so much fun with the free CD that came in Nathan's Huggies?!

In case you're wondering, Daddy helped dress Nathan this morning.
Mouthful of Starburst. Nathan gets the orange and yellow ones and I get the pink and red. I have to cut his into fourths. I like sharing Starbursts with Nathan better than with Steve because Nathan is just happy to get to eat candy, no matter what flavor. Steve catches on when I keep giving him the yellow ones.
Nathan is looking very studious wearing a tie while working on his alphabet puzzle.
Then look, he took the tie off and started eating the letters.
Playing with Quizard the Learning Wizard.
The last page of this book has a mirror on it so Nathan can't resist staring at himself. After he stares at himself for a couple of seconds he licks himself in the mirror. Every time.
Nathan is proudly wearing his Sturgis 2008 shirt. He's gearing up for the bike rally next week. Maybe Nathan will go there and fall in love, just like his Daddy did four years ago!
Thanks a lot, Grandpa. Next time you teach Nathan how to do something, make sure it's specific to your house. He stands there a grunts and whines until someone picks him up to turn on "the yight, the yight, the yight."
And as a side note I would like to clarify something for my loyal blog readers who are reading too much into Tammy and Tyler's new roommate. You'll be disappointed because there isn't a juicy story behind it. He is their friend who just PCS'd up here from Dyess and he's staying with them until he finds a house. Sorry to let you down, but he's not her new boyfriend that moved in during her husband's deployment. Also, let me remind you that this is Nathan's blog and he is the only person you should be concerned with anyways. :-)

Rapid City Socialite

Nathan is a regular on the social scene of Rapid City. We met up with some friends from the squadron at Storybook Island for lunch and playtime. There was definitely no shortage of kids to play with. Storybook Island is a big park and playground with all sorts of storybook characters throughout. Best part of all, even Old MacDonald's Farm has a small set-up there with baby goats. They also have a train similar to the one at Old MacDonald's Farm so he certainly couldn't pass that by!

He got so excited once the train started moving.

This is Nathan's friend, Caden. He's almost two.

Nathan and Tyler showed up wearing similar blue and yellow basketball outfits. I guess they were planning on playing a little b-ball afterwards.
Catching up on his beauty sleep.
Later, Nathan and Tyler headed over to Caden's house for a quick dip in his blow-up pool. I don't have any pictures though. I forgot my camera, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Here are a few random shots from last night and this morning. I don't want anyone to miss out on a single detail of Nathan's life!

Yesterday was Tyler's official birthday so Steve, Nathan and I met him and Tammy and their roommate, Pete, at Delmonico Grill for dinner. How does a one year old get Delmonico Grill and all I got was Chilis?
Nathan got a chance to wear his new Polo shoes. They're too big, but I made him wear them because they matched his shirt perfectly.
After dinner, Nathan changed into his running shoes.

Steve needs to hurry up and build Nathan a sandbox.
Nathan is making a mental note......crayons do not double as guitar picks. In his words, "Uh-oh."
Nathan isn't supposed to touch the receivers, per Steve, so let's hope Steve skips reading today's post to keep both Nathan and myself out of trouble.

Water Lover

Nathan and I met up with Tammy and Tyler and went to the pool for the afternoon. Their temporary roommate, Pete, also joined us. We stuck him with the job of taking pictures. We had so much fun. The pool has a beach entrance so Nathan started getting brave and played in the water up to his chest all by himself. He would realize what he was doing and rush to get back to me. Not bad for his first time in a big swimming pool.
