On Thursday, Steve took his family out to see his "office." Here is a picture of Nathan and Daddy up in the B-1. Boy, Nathan sure would have liked to push all those buttons and messed with all those switches.
The flightline doubles as Nathan's playground. Nathan and his cousin, Karl, just hanging out under the jet.
On Friday, we woke up early and went to Old MacDonald's Farm. Nathan showed his cousins all of his favorite animals.
Of course, Nathan rode the tractor train.
And went for a pony ride.
Afterwards, we had a cookout and went to the fireworks downtown. I wasn't sure how Nathan would react to the fireworks, but he absolutely loved them. We sat on blankets in the park and he just reclined on my lap and watched the fireworks with amazement. He sure had a lot to say about the fireworks. I don't know what he was saying, but he sure sounded impressed.
Then on Saturday morning we went to Mount Rushmore. Nathan sure has put a lot of miles on his new car already!
Nathan posing with his four cousins, (from left) Aly, Emily, Karl and Laura. Those are happy tears.
Enjoying the beautiful scenery that South Dakota has to offer.
Nathan refueled at the Mount Rushmore cafeteria.
Then on Sunday morning we said our good-byes to our company. What a good visit we had though!

Later that day, we went to the lake with Jeff, Tammy and Tyler. Here is a picture of Nathan enjoying the warm breeze.
After we left the lake we went to Tyler's house to grill out and swim/bathe in the blow-up pool. Nathan has never giggled as loud as he did when he was splashing in the pool waiting for it to fill up. Now I see that I'm going to have to go buy a water hose to hook up to the kitchen sink to fill up his shark pool at home for baths. They were falling in head first, but they didn't care. They jumped up and resumed splashing like it was what they were put on this earth to do.
Best bath ever.
Then, on Monday evening we went to Hill City to eat at the Alpine Inn with Tyler and his parents. It was a two hour wait, but Nathan didn't mind because that meant he got to run around outside while we waited. Here he is waiting with his daddy.
Nathan and Tyler chowed down on cantaloupe and HandiSnacks as we chowed down on filets.
Nathan sure did make the most out of the long holiday weekend. We were so busy, I didn't get a chance to update the blog until now. I would like to thank everyone for their patience, except for Grandma. Just kidding, Mother.
Hey Nathan,
ReplyDeleteWhen are you going to take ME to Mount Rushmore with you? I've always wanted to go!
