Baby Stories

Nathan has finally stopped getting mad and refusing to believe that there is a baby in my belly. He has since started making up his own baby stories. If I can have a baby in my belly, then why can't there be a baby hiding under his pillow, stuffed under the couch cushion, or under the table. That's right. He tells me there's a baby hiding just about everywhere. It's pretty funny. He'll even mention that there is a baby in my tummy now, but he refuses to call her by name. We're making some progress. Baby steps, I guess.

Steve and Nathan and I were sitting around the table eating cupcakes one night. On a shelf near the table, we have a picture of Steve and me at the squadron party at Mount Rushmore several months ago. A pre-pregnancy picture. Nathan was studying the picture and finally said, "Not Mommy have a tummy there." Then he turned to me and stared at my gigantic belly for a minute. Daddy responded with, "Maybe Mommy should lay off the cupcakes." So for those of you who can't believe that I'm huge this time around, take Nathan's word for it.

Nathan is old enough to ask for food at the grocery store now. He saw these "montey tuptates" (monkey cupcakes) that he just had to have.
Nathan ran up to me and gave me hug. I told him he smelled like cupcakes. He told me, "No I don't. Daddy washed me." Then he started feeling the dried frosting all over his face and said, "I have whisters."

  2. Aunt Ruth asked me to be sure to take a picture of Megan when I visit. Aunt Ruth can't imagine Megan being "huge".
Joseph thought that the sister I was bringing home to him from the hospital would be able to play with him right away. What a let down for him. Lady

  3. I would also like to see some big-belly pictures! Especially some unflattering, puffy-face ones, so I don't miss my own big belly too much. :)
