While we were in Georgia, Paw-Paw and Lady took Nathan to Chuck E. Cheese. They bought him a ton of tokens not realizing that he only uses about 5 or 6 tokens on each visit.
You can imagine how long it takes for him to go through 10 balls on skee ball. He holds the ball overhand at first, but then he switches and rolls the ball.
He cashed in his tickets for a miniature Tootsie Roll pop. All of his effort definitely paid off... as far as he was concerned anyways.
We haven't been to Old MacDonald's Farm in long time, which was totally okay with me. I don't know what reminded him of it, but he asked if he could go see the chickens hatching at 'Donald's Farm. I agreed to take him. We stopped at McDonald's on the way there. Here he is eating his hamburger before we went in the farm. Let me clarify, we are parked in the parking lot.
He was very concerned about the cows. He kept mentioning that they were hot and he didn't like that they had "bees" (they were actually flies, but as far as Nathan is concerned, all flying insects are either butterflies or bees) hanging out on their faces.
Next stop, baby goats. Nathan loved the goats again this year.
This little white one was his favorite.
He was very concerned that the goats weren't keeping themselves properly hydrated, as well. He kept trying to lead them over to the water bucket to make them drink.
If you squat down, the goats jump and climb all over you. One even climbed up my back.

Nathan doesn't like riding the train anymore, but he would be more than happy to get to drive the train. (He loves climbing on lawn mowers. That's part of the fun of going to Lowe's. He sits on every lawn mower and pretends like he's driving it.)
He's worn out after a long, hot day. He decided to take a break and play in the dirt for a little bit. The chicken decided to join him.

On our way to Old MacDonald's Farm, Nathan noticed a water park, Rushmore Water Slide. He pointed to it and said that he wanted to go "simming." I told him that we didn't have bathing suits so we would have to go there another day. He noticed it again on the way home and asked to go there again. I told him that we needed to go home and take a nap. That's all I said. I didn't say that we needed to take a nap then we would go, but somehow that's what he was thinking. He woke up from his nap and ran out of his room yelling with excitement, "We're going simmin'!" So guess what we ended up doing.
I don't have a maternity bathing suit and the last thing I felt like doing was shopping for one, so I just wore a bikini. "What did you wear?!?!?" was the first thing out of Lady's and Steve's mouths when I told them we went swimming. I'm in South Dakota, I don't think I looked any worse than the majority of the non-pregnant women in two piece bathing suits.
We played a little tetherball until we were dry enough to get in the car.
We went to story time at Border's.
This is Nathan's favorite part of story time. After he enjoyed his free chocolate chip cookie and hot chocolate, he was ready to go.

Yay! Old McDonald's Farm pics! I hope this post doesn't make Laura and Karl want to go to Chuck E. Cheese! We've been lucky so far...
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you're lucky some grandparents will come out to visit soon, to take over Nathan's outings for awhile :)
