Well, It's About Time

Four weeks ago, Steve left for what was initially supposed to be a three day trip. It got pushed back to five days, then a week, then ten days and you get the idea. I swear, he'll do anything to get out of having to take care of his pregnant wife. Just kidding. He made it home yesterday. He flew a jet to Dyess AFB then caught a commercial flight back to Rapid City. Nathan was so excited to see Steve. The second he saw him, Nathan took off running to him. He had a permanent smile on his face for the rest of the night. He requested that Steve to put him to bed last night. It was so sweet.

While Steve was gone, Nathan took his responsibility of being the man of the house very seriously. He must have been taking notes on everything the man of the house does on a daily basis. Here he is lounging in the recliner watching TV.
And here he is making a huge mess, without even realizing it. Just like Daddy does. (Why he felt the need to dump out his goldfish crackers then crush them is beyond me.)
Like I said, Nathan wouldn't leave Steve alone for the entire night. He even laid on the couch at watched TV with him.
He introduced Steve to Noggin.
Steve redeemed himself for leaving me alone with a two year old for so long. Shortly before he left for the jet swap, I mentioned one of the things that I missed most about living in Germany. Aside from all of the traveling opportunities and vineyards, I missed Granini Banana Juice. Steve brought me a case of it all the way from Qatar. It is the absolute best drink in the world. You can't get it in the US. Americans don't know what they're missing. As Nathan says, "Mmmm, it's dewicious!"

  1. Welcome home, Steve!

I don't know what Megan was more excited about... Steve's arrival or the arrival of the banana juice.
