I have enjoyed their visit just as much. Once they set foot in the house, Nathan has been telling me to "weave." Music to my ears... considering it's been just Nathan and me since July 21.
Nathan has this sticky green ball that Oma thinks is "ishy." (Translation for non-Minnesotans: icky.)
He thinks it's so funny to gross her out and hear her say, "ewww, ish!"
Opa even gave up his fishing opportunity to wash and wax my car. Excuse me, I mean he washed Nathan's car. Nathan kept going up to Opa and confirming, "Opa washing Nathan's car?"Opa scrubbed it from top to bottom. You can see reflections in the paint for the first time in a long time.
Somehow, Oma and Opa knew that Nathan would enjoy going to see the airplanes.
Good thing Nathan went along so he could tell Oma and Opa everything they need to know about airplanes. "Airplanes go way up in the sky."
Oma and Opa took Nathan inside to see a cockpit. He showed off his flying skills.
Chicks dig pilots. As soon as Nathan climbed out of the cockpit, he had a girl waiting for him. Just kidding. Actually, Oma and Opa ran into some of their close friends from Rush City who were passing through on their way home from a vacation. This is their granddaughter, Kaitlyn.
Later that night, he was still talking about wanting to go fast in the B-1.
I got out his "B-1" to satisfy his need for speed.
He bounced so high that he got airborne. (In case you can't tell by his hair.)
Winding down and getting ready for bed.
Oma and Opa and Nathan woke up around 6 a.m. and started their day. That's not exactly my style, so I stayed home and caught a few more zzzz's. They began their morning with a big breakfast, which included lots of coloring and playing.
He likes wearing Opa's hat.
Then they found themselves at Dinosaur Park.
Nathan is telling Opa all about his hometown.
Next stop, mall playground.

Hopefully, Nathan hasn't gotten into the habit of having this much fun all before noon. If so, he's in for some serious disappointment.
Nathan and Big Bird make quite the flight crew.
No more pictures, please!
We are also dog sitting now. This is Hershey.
Hershey took a liking to Opa. He curled up beside Opa every chance he got.
Nathan thinks he is such hot stuff because he's bigger than this dog. He bosses this dog around all day long. The dog doesn't listen, but I don't think Nathan notices. He just likes being able to tell someone else what to do. He was following behind the dog down the hall and he yelled, "Doddy, I said wait!" It's so funny to hear him use my mean lines. It's usually, "Nathan, I said ____!" This dog is so sweet and can't get enough attention, which is perfect because Nathan just can't leave the dog alone.
Hershey even takes naps with Nathan.

Wow, Nathan has alot of action packed days. I think I'd be exhausted if I had his schedule.
ReplyDeleteNathan sure hasn't been denied any attention the last few days. That's exactly what he thrives on. Has he started saying "ishy"?
