Right Side of the Tracks

Nathan loves, loves, loves playing train tracks. That's what he calls it when he plays with his Thomas the Train set. What he really loves, though, is having someone sit and watch him play train tracks. That's when Skyping with Paw-Paw and Lady comes in handy. They watch him build the track and chat back and forth about the various train pieces. It works out perfectly for everyone involved.

Each train character has a name, so Nathan quizzes me on each character's name. Over and over, I hear, "What's that guy's name?"
Harold the Helicopter didn't provide enough aviation excitement, so Nathan brought a few airplanes of his own (or, I guess maybe Steve's) into the mix.
Like I said, each train character has a name. Nathan asked me what this airplane's name was, so I told him it didn't have a name yet. I told him to name it. Meet Nathan, the airplane.
Is Nathan just extremely uncreative or do other parents name their kid's toys for them? Nathan comes up with his own names for toys. He also has a dinosaur named Mace Hank.

  1. Opa gave the kids a few fish for the aquarium. They've named one of them "Freddie."

  2. Laura's two favorite dolls are both named "Laura." Maybe Meissner kids are just like that.
