The South Meets South Dakota

My friends Amanda and Sam from Tennessee came up and graced South Dakota with their presence. Actually, they had to check out my story to make sure it was legit. As far as my family and friends are concerned, Steve is a figment of my imagination. It doesn't help that he hasn't been to Georgia or Tennessee in two years. Amanda decided to get to the bottom of this once and for all. We had her convinced for the first five hours, but then when Steve left the next morning for Las Vegas and she didn't see him again, her suspicions began to resurface.

Anytime we have company, he chooses a favorite person and makes that person do everything for him. Amanda was the chosen one on this visit. Everything was, "Manda do it."After Amanda did this the first time, she didn't realize that she was going to have to do this 10 more times. Nathan kept going up to her and saying, "I need to stand on that guy's head."
Nathan showed Amanda and Sam Daddy's B-1.
He did that with a little bit of Steve's help.
Nathan showed them one of the most thrilling attractions ever built, as well. We didn't take pictures, but we went to Dinosaur Park. Nathan was very proud to show them the dinosaurs. They know that we've been to Mount Rushmore about 85,793,349 times, so they stopped there on their way out of town. The rest of the time was spent showering Nathan with attention. Needless to say, he had a blast.

They know the way straight to Nathan's heart. They brought him two animal bobbles that he wouldn't put down for the first 10 hours of their visit.
They know the way straight to Steve's heart, as well. They brought him a jar of a special beverage that is very popular in the South. He is a huge fan of Tennessee now!

Amanda and Sam left this morning. They informed me that they were glad to be able to mark this place off their list of places they've been, but will never come back as long as they can help it. I can totally relate.

As if constant friends and family aren't exciting enough for Nathan, he started a new adventure this month, as well. He went to his first Mother's Morning Out this morning from 9 a.m.-noon. He goes every Friday. As I was dropping him off I was talking to one of the other moms and before I realized it, he was mixed in with the other kids without any concern for me whatsoever. When I picked him up at noon he repeated over and over, "I had FUN!!" That's great because I enjoyed myself too!

  1. I share Amanda and Sam's view of Rapid City. The town is so weird. I'll be glad when they are able to leave.
I'm happy that Nathan had a great time this morning. Lady
