Daddy's Homecoming

I woke Nathan up at midnight so that we could go to the squadron to wait for Daddy's plane to arrive. Nathan was a little trooper. I had been telling him all day that we were going to get to see Daddy finally. We spent the week counting down days to Daddy's arrival. We played in the squadron bar for a little while before heading over to the hangar to wait some more. His plane finally landed at 2:30 a.m. Nathan and I stood in the freezing cold and watched it land. Nathan was so excited. He was yelling "Daddy...airplane...Daddy!" He definitely picked up on every one's excitement and energy and joined right in. It was so much fun seeing everyone reunite with their families. Nathan was a little shy for the first 10 minutes, but he quickly warmed up to him. I think he was just a little freaked out by the 80s style deployment 'stache. I have to admit, I was a little freaked out by it as well. Nathan and Daddy ran around the hangar and played while we waited for his bags to unload.

Here is a picture of Nathan at about 1 a.m. in the squadron bar. He was feeling a bit groggy. Not too groggy to play basketball, though.
Here he is at about 2 a.m. in the hangar. Still a little out of it.
Here we are at about 4 a.m. One big happy family again.
Daddy was quickly introduced to the bobble game.
Almost 5 a.m. and Nathan was still a little freaked out by Daddy's facial hair.
Here I am with the homeless guy that I felt sorry for and invited in. I'll spare you the other funny mustache pictures.
