Blogging Break
Steve and Nathan headed to Minnesota yesterday... sans Mommy. Just letting you know so that you don't check back sooner than the next 10 days. I don't want to have certain people (Uh Joe) sending me mean messages about how frustrating it is to check the blog repeatedly to find nothing new.

A Regular Day
Lady headed back home today. Nathan hated to see her go even worse than I did. When she got out of the car he began crying and telling her to get back in the backseat. He knew what was going on. Poor kid. Now he's stuck with his lazy mom and dad.
After we got home from the airport, he had a delicious breakfast. He climbed on the counter and asked for "ununs and o-gurt."
Not a good combination, Activia yogurt and fried onions. Not because of flavors either.
After breakfast we headed outside for some gardening. Nathan and I planted him his very own lilac bush.
Gardening in "night-nights" is almost as much fun as taking walks in them.

Lady's Man
Steve and I have had no problem keeping busy while Lady has been in town. We've pretty much just handed custody over to Lady. Unfortunately, she has to go home tomorrow and we have begin parenting again. I guess we'll worry about that when the time comes, for now he's still all Lady's.
Steve and I went to Deadwood with some friends for a nice dinner at Jake's on Saturday night. We had a good time until I got a speeding ticket on the way home. We had to sell a car to cover the fine. My 5 mph over speeding ticket was $70. Coincidentally, two days later, Steve was out messing around in the garage when a lady, desperate for a car, stopped by and asked if Hank's car was for sale. She offered him $70 for it. Sold! What a relief, now I can stop griping about that eye sore.

Friday Fun Day
Nathan had yet another fun-filled day with Lady. She wakes up at the crack of dawn with him and doesn't waste any time before heading outside to play. Steve and I always tell Nathan it's too cold outside and we have to wait for it to warm up when he wants to go out at 6 a.m. Truth is, we just need to finish resting on the couch while he plays with his cars. I hope Lady didn't spoil our excuse.
In case you can't tell by the look on his face, Nathan is having a great time.
In case you can't tell by the look on his face, Nathan is having a great time.
This is a funny story. Nathan and Lady were playing together today and Lady called herself Grandma. Nathan started laughing and yelled, "Grandma!" and repeated it like it was a ridiculous name. I mean, what a crazy concept. Calling a grandmother Grandma? Too funny.
Another funny short story. I was telling Nathan that Lady is my mommy. Nathan didn't believe me. He told me, "No, that's my Lady." Seeing this as an opportunity for a quick little spat (poor Nathan, Steve and I get a kick out of picking on him), I insisted that she was my mommy. He didn't like the sound of that and insisted that she was his Lady. I finally gave up and agreed.

Lady to the Rescue
Lady's plane arrived late Wednesday night, so Nathan was in bed when she got here. Before we put Nathan to bed, Steve and I asked him who he thought might be at our house in the morning when he woke up. He was just certain it was "Uh Joe." Without a doubt, he repeatedly told us "Uh Joe" was coming. Boy was he surprised and happy to see Lady when he woke up... and I sure did enjoy sleeping late. It was my dream come true today, I wasn't good enough for anything. Everything was, "No Lady do it. Where Lady go? Lady, hold me." This is exactly what I've been needing.
Nathan and Lady started their day together by running laps up and down the hall.
Each lap was followed with tickling and cuddling.

Lady took Nathan on three walks. His third walk is his favorite because he gets to wear his night-nights. That's how we bribe him to be nice and cooperate during his bath. He hates baths. I don't know what's so exciting about wearing night-nights on a walk, but whatever works.
Here is a picture from the "night-night walk" the previous night.
We started Nathan off in the big boy bed with just the mattress and box spring on the floor, so that if he fell out he only had a short distance to fall. He hasn't rolled out of bed since the first night he slept in the big boy bed, so we went ahead and put it up on the frame. He is loving his even bigger big boy bed now.
He also likes his new bed spread. Here he is pointing out the various sports balls.

Too Hot to Handle
I think this pregnancy has turned me into a totally different person. First it started with taking my nails off, I can't stand the feel of jewelry, then I cut all my hair off (12 inches), and now I can't stand the heat. I don't know what's going on, but I do know that I don't like it. I complained for months about cold weather and when I finally have a hot day (86 degrees) I can't handle it. I was nauseous all day, but that didn't matter to Nathan. As far as he was concerned, we had some serious playing that needed to be done.
On our way back home from our walk, Nathan saw some soft grass in the shade and couldn't resist taking a break.
Then I felt good for five seconds and came up with the great idea of washing my car. Nathan kept informing me that I was washing his car. He kept pointing to it and saying, "That's Nathan's car." I guess that means I need to go shopping for a new car for myself.
The part of the car you see clean is all that got washed before I gave up and just let Nathan have the water hose. He was soaked, but it was better than having him covered in dirt.

Needless to say, I am definitely looking forward to Lady's visit on Wednesday. When I'm on the phone with her and I'm complaining about being sick and she hears Nathan screaming at me to get up and play, she thinks its funny. She's going to be in for it, I'm going to give her the full Nathan experience. She can be the one to wake up at 6 a.m. and talk and play nonstop for the entire day.

Weekend Warrior
You can tell we've all been anxiously awaiting warm weather. I don't think any of us spent more than 30 minutes inside yesterday.
He knew he was in for another big day so he started his day off with a hearty breakfast of grapes and pepperoni pizza.
Then washed it all down with some Elmo juice.

After breakfast, we took our morning walk. Nathan is becoming quite the little celebrity on our street. No wonder he wants to take three walks a day. I probably would want to also if I got all the attention he gets.
This is a major highlight of our walks.
When we got home from our walk, Nathan was happy to see Steve working in the yard. Mainly because he had the hose out.
Nathan kept backing up into the stream of water.
Now that he's nice and wet, he's on his way to sit and play in the dirt.
These pictures don't even come close to showing how dirty he was.
He also tried his hand at his tricycle for the first time this year. He told me he didn't need any help.
This is the result when you throw the wrong leg over.
Nothing like a sippy cup of milk on a hot day.
