On our walk this afternoon, we just happened to catch up with the mail carrier as she did her route. Nathan thought that once we caught up to her we were all walking together. He stood in front of each house and waited for her to walk up and put the mail in each mailbox. (Our mailboxes are on our front porches.) Each time, as she dropped off the mail at each house, Nathan yelled, "Are you comin'?" Lucky for her, we caught up with her with only about five or six houses left on her route. Then when she got back in her mail truck, Nathan stood on the street corner almost in tears, refusing to tell her bye. He kept saying, "No, not bye. Hi." She laughed and laughed.
We also hit Old MacDonald's Farm today. He always tells the cashier that we're there to pet cows.
We hung out with the goats for a little while.
Aside from the chickens hatching, Nathan's other fascination this year are the sheep. Today, there was a mama sheep with her babies. Of course, Nathan couldn't keep his hands off the lambs. The mama sheep stood back and watched until she couldn't take anymore. Then she ran over and gave Nathan a mean "baaaaaa!" Nathan thought that was hilarious. I had forgotten all about it until Nathan brought it up several hours later. Except in Nathan's version of the story he says, "Mama sheep, rooooaaaaarrrrrrrrr!" It probably would seem more like a roar if you were looking at her face to face!
A trip to Old MacDonald's Farm isn't complete until we play on the playground for what seems like forever.
Recently, Nathan has been interested in jigsaw puzzles. I've been working the same puzzle with him since March, so now he's finally decided that he can put it together by himself. He can get about 10 pieces together all by himself now.
It's so funny to listen to him as he talks himself through it.

I went to the Dollar Store yesterday and got three more puzzles for Nathan. Only the best for my grandson. Lady
