Buying Power

If you can't tell by now, everything that Nathan does is a major event that deserves documentation. A couple of days ago, Nathan and I were in Hallmark. I went up to the register and made my purchase as Nathan eyeballed the racks and racks of candy right at his level. He didn't ask for any candy, so I just ignored the situation, especially because the tiny candy bars were $3.95 each. I grabbed my bag and told him to come on. He didn't move and continued to look at all the yummy chocolates. I knew it was coming, he said, "I buy nandy?" It was so cute. I repeated his question back to him, "You want to buy some candy?" He responded with, "O-tay" as he grinned and carefully selected his choice of chocolates. He chose the piece of chocolate wrapped in "geen" foil for only $1.
He proudly handed the cashier his dollar bill, took his receipt and chocolate and followed up with a "dank you!" The whole way out to the car he was grinning as he held his chocolate in one hand and his receipt in the other.
