We took a walk and played in the sandbox. Two big hits with Nathan.
Later this morning, we headed out to the Air and Space Museum to look at airplanes. This is one of Nathan's absolute favorite places to go.
Hey Nathan, where's the B-1?
Here he is telling me everything I need to know about airplanes.
Then Nathan found this airplane and realized how cool it was to run back and forth underneath it while looking up at it.
A day at the Air and Space Museum isn't complete without playing in the rocks. He didn't want to leave so I promised him if he left nicely today then we would go see the airplanes again tomorrow. He's been talking about seeing the airplanes "morrow" all day.
We went and had lunch at, where else other than, McDonald's. I think Nathan is addicted to McDonald's because that's all I ate during my first trimester with him.
Nathan likes to keep tabs on everyone's eating progress. He keeps up with who is almost done, who is cleaning up, and who is all done. He announces it and points to each table so that everyone in the restaurant knows who's finishing their food and when.

The fun didn't end there. It was a warm day (not warm enough for an outdoor pool), so we decided to go swimming. He was all for swimming until I pulled in the swim center parking lot and he started yelling, "Not want to go simming! No, no simming!" He must have remembered how miserably cold it was during his winter swim lessons. Then he begged me to not make him go swimming. Look at his sad face.
I told him to just give it a try and if he didn't enjoy it then we would leave.
We ended up leaving two hours later (much to Nathan's displeasure), and only because the pool was closing soon.
He jumped off the side over and over again.
I told him to wait just one second so that I could get a picture, but apparently, he didn't have a second to spare. He was jumping whether I was ready to catch him or not.
Nathan is quite the little swimmer.
This is how he puts his face under water. He covers his entire face with his hands then quickly sticks his face in the water.
Nathan was starving after such a busy day. He snacked on some raspberries and blackberries while I made him one of his favorite meals.
Chicken curry. He asked for it yesterday so I decided to make it for him tonight. Lucky for Steve, that's his favorite meal too. Now that I think about it, I bet Steve told Nathan to ask for it. He knows I'm a sucker for Nathan. Oh well, Nathan ended up eating two and half bowls of chicken curry and chugging a big glass of milk. He had to refuel after his exciting day.
Nathan caught on to the idea of "If I'm nice when Mommy tells me it's time to leave then I can come back tomorrow." Tonight after we got home he listed off everything that we were going to do tomorrow. "See airplanes 'morrow. Go to Donald's 'morrow. Go simming 'morrow. Go see fans 'morrow." I don't know where he got the idea to go see fans tomorrow. That was never mentioned today. When he says he wants to go see fans, he means he wants to go to Lowe's or Menard's. All this after I promise him one thing. Oh well, it looks like we'll be doing more of the same, and then some tomorrow! I have this whole conversation on video, but I can't upload videos to the blog from this computer. It's too cute. I'll be sure and post it later.

Wow! Nathan and Mommy did lots of fun things!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Mommy is feeling good again.

Holy cow, you MUST be feeling better! I thought for sure that Nathan would be demanding Old McDonald's Farm. You're lucky that South Dakota is full of hoppin' places for little kids!
