Branching Out

Steve and I took turns playing outside with Nathan all day yesterday. It was 55 degrees, which we now consider to be warm.
Nathan sits in the driveway and draws all the trees within sight.
I'm just kidding.
I tried to one-up Nathan on his tree drawing, but he wasn't impressed.
That was enough drawing trees, he had to go explore some real trees.
He kept accidentally hitting me in the face with that branch. Each time he hit me he said, "That didn't hurt you. You're tough." I wonder where he came up with that line.
This is Kathryn's homemade playpen. She refuses to believe that she can't sit upright on her own, but she still likes sitting in her chair way better than any baby seats. She leans forward trying to sit up, but always falls over. I was afraid she was going to lean forward and fall out of her chair, so I put it against the couch to block her in. I think it makes her feel like she's more included in the fun when she's in her big girl chair.
I think she likes her pink chair better than any baby seats because Nathan can play with her better.
It is impossible for Nathan to see Kathryn and not go up and play with her/pick on her.
Coloring with his water-soaked crayons (all the paper is coming off) in his water-soaked pad of paper. We kept his crayons and paper under his bed.
Kathryn would rather lean forward against her face than lean back.
