Daddy is gone and the house is clean so as soon as Nathan woke up I dressed him and sent him outside to play. He didn't mind, he lives to play outside. Nathan and I ate our leftover spaghetti for breakfast out there too. That's what is on his face in the pictures, actually serving as glue for the sand. After cleaning the kitchen floor 3 times yesterday because of tracked in sand, I planned ahead. I dressed him in a t-shirt and a diaper and let him get as messy as he wanted to, but he had to strip down and get in the shark pool and rinse off before he was allowed back inside. Here is a suggestion to parents with children that haven't been introduced to sand yet, "DON'T DO IT!"
Steve came home early yesterday and played in the sandbox with Nathan, so Nathan was hoping for another surprise visit from Daddy this morning, but no such luck. Steve flew over to a bigger sandbox on the other side of the world, but hopefully he'll be home in a few days. He's doing a jet swap.
Nathan is always getting into something. He got tired of his spacious new sandbox and decided to play in an old planter filled with dirt.
He sure likes getting dirty.
When I tell him he's dirty, he laughs and says, "dut." [dirt]
The beginning of the rinse off process.
All this and it's not even noon yet.
Grandma will be there in less than a month to play with you, Nathan. I won't care how dirty you get.
