The Beginning of Nate & Kate

I asked Nathan if he got a new truck and he responded with this: "Yes. And I got a haircut and I went to McDonald's and I got a baby sister." If that doesn't sound like a good day, I don't know what does.
How many other people envision Nathan taking newborn Kathryn for rides up and down the hall in his new truck? Yikes!
Nathan's new haircut. When dealing with Nathan, you can be sure you'll get a laugh out of even the smallest things. Paw-Paw took Nathan for his quarterly haircut and Nathan didn't get mad or anything... until it came time for choosing a sucker. The hair stylist handed Nathan the entire bowl of suckers and Nathan politely took the entire bowl of suckers and headed for the door. Paw-Paw stopped him and explained that he could choose one sucker. He got mad and cried and said he wanted the whole bowl. Each party compromised and Nathan left with two suckers. When Paw-Paw told Steve and me about the incident, Steve said that only our kid would expect an entire bowl of suckers for getting his hair cut.
Checking out "Baby Sister," also known as "Tafryn." Nathan doesn't pronounce the "k" or "th" sounds properly.
He loves giving Baby Sister kisses. He kissed her head this morning, then said, Baby Sister's hair is too fuzzy.
Paw-Paw introduced Nathan to the self timer on the camera. This is all Nathan wanted to do one evening. He likes to push the button then run to the couch and act silly for the pictures.
And this is what Kathryn has been up to.

  2. She is so beautiful, Megan. Congrats! And it's ok to take a break from blogging once in awhile after giving birth, for goodness' sake -- don't want the Gerken girls expecting daily blogs any time one of us has a baby!
