Kate and Nate Update

As far as Dr. Frederickson can tell, it looks like Kathryn will be arriving early. She should get to experience her first Thanksgiving this year. Now I have to rush out and buy that cute little "My First Thanksgiving" outfit that I've been looking at, but hesitant to buy. Dr. Frederickson said that another week would be good, but two more weeks would be perfect. I placed my bet on her birthday, Nov. 18, several weeks ago, so let's see if I'm right about this.

Dr. Frederickson also speculates that Kathryn will be around 6 lb. 8 oz. That's how much Nathan weighed, too. She said that I'm measuring on the small side, if you can believe that. If you've seen me recently, you wouldn't say there is anything small about me. Maybe it's all relative.

Today's doctor visit was one of the only ones that Nathan has missed. Don't think his absence went unnoticed. One would assume that when you're at an obstetrician's office, and a nurse asks how your baby is doing, she means the baby in your belly. I gave some pregnancy related answer and she said, "No, I mean Nathan." Nathan sure does leave a lasting impression on everyone he encounters.

I'll shower Nathan with some more blog attention. Here are some more pictures of the "gimme my baby back" game. As soon as Steve walks in the door, Nathan realizes that he has everyone he needs to play the game, and immediately starts calling for it. These pictures don't show his full excitement because I had to stop playing for a second to take the picture. You get the idea, though.

As I was uploading those pictures, I had to take a break to yell at Nathan for knocking the coasters off of the end table... on purpose. His response reminded me that I've been meaning to share some of his sayings lately. I don't know where he comes up with a lot of the things he says, but they sure are funny... at first.

When he cleared off the end table, I told him that he needed to pick everything up and put it back. He gave me this miserable look and said, "Oh Mommy, that's gonna take forever."

Here is another one of my favorites (only because it's still fairly new, give it time). When he does something wrong (example: pouring water out of the bathtub), and I get made and say "NATHAN" and he immediately responds with, "I'm sorry, Mommy. It just be an accident."

Other times when I get mad and yell at Nathan (yes, that does happen), he responds with, "Mommy, please don't talk loud."

Is this kid smart, or what? He goes into manner mode when he's about to get in trouble. He knows I can't resist that cuteness.
