Steve started a Mother's Day tradition back in 2007. With that being my first Mother's Day as a mother, it kind of caught Steve off guard. Luckily, we have a Family Dollar right down the road so he was able to sneak out that morning and get me a very special gift to celebrate my very first Mother's Day. He got me a little figurine. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a figurine type person. That's what made it so much better. I opened it and said something to the effect of, "What the ....... is this?" Then I bought myself what I felt I deserved after being a mother for one month. I don't remember what it was, but I'm sure it was better than a figurine.
We had a good laugh at that first Mother's Day, so each year now Steve takes Nathan to Family Dollar to pick me out a special figurine. I actually look forward to seeing what Nathan picks out for me now. Next year Kathryn will be big enough to go along and help in choosing my gift.
Awww, I'm so lucky to be these kids' mommy.
Now that I have two kids to celebrate Mother's Day with, it's double the fun.
Oh, how exciting! Opening my present.
I got some Reese's Cups that Nathan immediately asked for when he saw them.
Apparently, Nathan also thought that I could use some socks from Family Dollar, too. As soon as he walked in the house after their shopping trip, he said "I got you socks!"
Look at Nathan. He's so cute. He's so proud of the present he picked out for me.
Baby Sister and the figurine. I've been storing these in my dresser drawer, but now that I have four of them, I think I need to put them out on display.
Hopefully every other mom out there gets a present as special as my figurine. Then hopefully you get to go out and buy yourself what you really deserve, too! I'm thinking jewelry.

Happy Mother's Day!!!
I want to see the other figurines too. Joe said he researched Mothers-to-be on the internet and he couldn't find anything so I don't get anything from him until next year, so it better be good! We'll see if Joe gets anything for Father's day, if your prediction of Jessica's birthday is right then he will get to start being a father on father's day.
