Moving Day: Part 1

A couple of days ago, we experienced the first of many moving days in the upcoming months. (And for the next several years.) We said good-bye to 2 Saint Charles Street and hello to TLF on base. I was afraid Nathan was going to be upset about having to leave the greatest house ever. (Remember he's three years old - the house had a super long hallway for running.) As we drove off we said, "Good-bye house." And that was it. It might help that I've been telling him how crappy that house is and that we're going to go find a better house. If you ask him where they have better houses, he'll gladly tell you, "In Alabama!"
As the movers were packing us up, Nathan supervised telling them, "You can't carry that. It's too heavy."
I thought I was going to die laughing (secretly), when I was back in a bedroom with Baby Sister and Nathan yelled from the main part of the house, "Hey Mommy, where did those brown guys go?"
I confined Nathan to the couch to stay out of the movers' way.
He leaps back and forth from one end to the other.
Nathan yells, "Ready for take-off!" then leaps across the couch. He says he's flying.
I think he's figured out that if he relates everything to flying, he's allowed to do it. Otherwise, this would be considered jumping on the furniture.
We put post-it notes on everything that we didn't want packed up.
Baby Sister just watched as we took care of the final moving out chores.
We've had some really long days.
Really, really long days.
Nathan just sat and ate his McDonald's on the floor as I cleaned the next day.
This was a nice surprise for Nathan. Uncle Joe flew in to drive the Altima down to Paw-Paw and Lady's house for us. I would be lying if I said he was doing us a favor. I think we're the ones doing him the favor. He LOVES to do road trips. He has been begging me for this job for over six months.
He practiced caring for a baby with Baby Sister. She's not the best baby to practice on, though, she's always happy and never cries.
Hopefully the next resident at 2 Saint Charles Street will enjoy that big living room window as much as Nathan did. He spent so much time watching the world from that window...
..... ever since he's been able to pull himself up, he's been staring out that window.
