Flipping Out

Nathan went to his first gymnastics class this morning at The Little Gym. He wasn't so sure about it at first, but by the end he didn't want to leave. He kept trying to sneak back in the gym even after the class was over. He wasn't too keen on the idea of organization, but he's never had any kind of organization in his life so that part came as a shock to him. He's the youngest kid in the class and we're joining during the middle of the semester so keeping that in mind, he did very well. Ms. Katie said it usually takes two weeks for the kids to warm up to the whole idea, so we'll see what I have to say about it in two weeks! This is probably no surprise to most of you, but Nathan's favorite part of the class was the music and dancing.

Another funny thing about the class was the fact that Nathan and I are one of the few mommy and child duos. Most of the other kids in the class are there with their nannies. I can guarantee you that this is Steve's exact thought now, "I told you we needed to bring one of those Swedish chicks home with us after we visited Stockholm three years ago." I'm sure Steve's desire for a Swedish nanny doesn't have anything to do with the fact that all the women are beautiful, tall blondes. I'm sure he just had Nathan's best interest in mind...even though Nathan wasn't even thought of at the time.

I couldn't get any action pictures during the class because I was busy being part of the action, but here is a picture of Nathan waiting for class to start.

After Nathan's class, we stopped and joined a gym for me. There is a nutrition store right next door with a dog that hangs out in the doorway. It's a sweet dog named Lexi. This dog instantly fell in love with Nathan because he ate a cracker in the car on the way over and somehow managed to cover himself in cracker slobber. Not a problem, though. Lexi cleaned him right up before we headed inside the gym.

Nathan definitely doesn't have a shortage of animals to play with at Grandma and Grandpa's. Here he is giving Mica some much-needed and well-received love and affection after her near death experience. My poor little girl was attacked and ripped open.

WARNING!!! The next image is gross. It's mainly for Uncle Joe, so if you don't like seeing hurt animals don't look. This is Mica's stitched up wound with the drainage tube sticking out. Poor Mi-Mi Girl.

My dogs are barking. Nathan encourages the dogs' bad behavior. He loves to hear the dogs bark and the dogs love to bark for him.

And here he is sharing his Cheerios with Mace. No wonder Mace won't leave him alone.

  1. That dog barking video is hilarious and that cat stitch picture is disgusting.
