Grandpa's Trippin'

Grandpa woke up this morning anxious to get his day of play started. Nathan didn't go to bed until 11 p.m. last night so he slept until 9 a.m. Somehow, he managed to sleep through Grandpa's constant checking in on him. Grandpa finally just opened Nathan's bedroom door. He said he did it to make sure he could hear him when he woke up, but I believe it was done in hopes the the noise from the rest of the house would wake him...which it did.

We went to Border's for story time again today. Nathan was such a good little boy. He and one other little boy were the only kids that managed to refrain from having a meltdown during story time. Story time only lasts about 15-20 minutes so that's not really saying much, but Grandpa was so proud of him none-the-less. You guessed it, Nathan is the proud owner of one of those books with wheels now, as well as a couple others.

After story time, we went to the park again and Daddy joined us. We played at the park for a little while then headed home for even more playtime until it was time for Grandpa to begin his long journey back to Georgia. Grandpa was nice enough to fly up here to pick up my car and drive it down to Georgia for us. He has about 24 hours of driving to do over the next couple of days. Nathan and I are flying to Georgia next week because Steve is deploying on Sunday. We are trading a cold South Dakota winter for a Georgia winter. That's our consolation prize.

Bye-bye, Grandpa! Safe travels.
