Doggone It

The Meissner household was very sad to have to say good-bye to Saber. We delivered him back to his family, but not before we took him for one last walk. It's been nice having a dog around...especially because he cleans up after Nathan.
Nathan is unstoppable in those orange shoes.
This is the sucker he picked out at Dinosaur Park a couple of days ago. I won't have to buy another one for the next five years.
It's payday! Nathan is handing out our weekly allowances.
Yesterday I was looking for some cushions for a couple of stools and I came across this fabric. I normally don't even attempt crafty projects, but this orange and white fleece was calling out to me. I figured I would try to make Nathan one of those knotted blankets. Nathan is now the proud owner of what is sure to become a family heirloom. This timeless treasure was made with love. Actually, only the first side of knots was made with love. As I was knotting the other three sides I cursed myself for starting this project. But then when Nathan woke up from his nap and pretended to love the blanket, it made it all worth it.

  1. My kids are always fighting over blankets at night watching T.V.
I was going to make all my kids one of those knotted blankets...I'm not crafty at all...is it really a pain in the a@%? Good job, anyway!!

  2. If you can, I totally recommend suckering someone into doing the blanket for you. It's not hard at all, it's just so boring tying knot after knot when you could be doing better stuff.

  3. That last picture looks like Nathan is giving us the slant eye, just like his mama use to.
