Fun-Filled Friday

Whew! What a day. Nathan and I started our day off by joining Tammy and Tyler for story time at Border's. Much to my surprise, Nathan sat still and behaved. He really enjoyed it. Afterwards, Nathan shopped for some new books and even found some new Sesame Street number flash cards. Not a bad way to start the day. But that's not all, it gets even better!
Nathan was a pretty huge fan of the books with wheels.
I didn't buy them for him, though. I don't want to spoil him.
Tyler and Nathan found the puppets and had a good time playing with them for a while.
Nathan made himself right at home on Tammy's lap.
"Trust me, Tyler. I know what I'm doing."
Tammy and I were looking in the children's activities section at Border's and thought that Nate and Ty would probably like to try out painting. The thing is, neither of us want to introduce painting to them at home. Tammy came up with the brilliant idea of taking them to Pottery 2 Paint. The boys get to paint and we don't have to clean up afterwards. I'm all for that!

At first, Nathan got confused and forgot he was supposed to be painting. He dipped the brush in the paint and stuck it in his mouth.
Each time he ate the paint you could tell he didn't mean to do it. It's the same motion as eating with utensils and there was a plate in front of him. I can see why that was confusing at first.
After three accidental bites of paint and rubbing the brush through his hair, he got the hang of it and created a beautiful masterpiece. After it's fired, we'll pick it up on Monday. Hopefully, your anticipation of seeing the final product won't distract you from your weekend activities.
Here is a shot of the artist in action.
