Big Boy Bed Follow Up

The big boy bed went exactly as planned, but not as hoped. Steve laid in bed with Nathan last night and Nathan immediately fell asleep at 9:30 p.m. It was way too easy. He slept very sound until he fell out of the bed at 2:30 a.m. I knew that would happen so I padded the floor all around the sides. He landed on his bean bag chair so it was no big deal. I went in there to get him back situated, but he thought that it was time to party. He never tried to get out of the bed, but he did chat up storm telling me all about his big boy bed and rolling around and playing until I couldn't take anymore at 4:30 a.m. I put him back in his crib and went back to my bed. We were very cautious about this new transition and decided to keep the crib in operation until we have all of the kinks worked out. He yelled and screamed, so Steve went and laid on the big boy bed until 5 a.m. Nathan stayed in his crib and was completely content falling back to sleep in it, as long as Steve or I was in the room. We're going to give it another try tonight. Wish us luck.

Nathan went to swimming lessons again this morning. I would have skipped them and let Nathan catch up on sleep, but we are going to miss next week so I didn't want him to miss two classes. Even this morning during class, Nathan was still talking about his "bee boy bed."

After swimming lessons, I asked Nathan if he wanted to go to McDonald's for lunch and he responded with, "E-I-E-I-O. Moo moo here." He was a little confused.
I am the luckiest person alive to get to hang out with this kid every day.
