Our next door neighbor babysits her granddaughter who just so happens to be around Nathan's age. She is 21 months old and her name is Katie. Nathan is extremely smitten by her and Katie is absolutely in love with Nathan. She's not the old fashioned type of gal. She chased him down and they laughed and squealed. She gave him hug after hug. Nathan didn't want to let his true feelings be too obvious, so he turned his head away from her as he grinned from ear to ear. It was so cute.
Katie and her grandma went inside to start dinner (much to Katie's dismay), so Nathan pulled a stalker move and sat down in her front yard. I told him that's no way to pick up chicks, but he wouldn't budge. He said he's never felt this way about any other girl before.
Nathan finally decided to get up, so we took a walk down the block.
Later that night, Nathan got the chance to meet up with his buddy Vinh. We haven't seen him since before Steve's deployment. He's nine months old so Nathan gave him a quick rundown of everything he's going to need to know. Lesson #1: Counting. Lesson #2: Don't even think about climbing on my mom's lap again.
It wouldn't be complete without a picture of Voi. Every time he comes over it makes me want a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I think Nathan might need one of these for his birthday.
That's sweet that Nathan has a little girl to play with. Be sure to teach him to be kind and considerate.
