Nathan and I baked cookies together, just like I remember my mom making when I was a kid.
I broke them apart and handed them to him to place on the cookie sheet.
As I was getting dinner ready, Nathan seemed a little too quiet. I can usually hear him reading books, lining up cars, shaking bobbles or just singing the alphabet while he plays. I knew something was going on...and I had a pretty good idea of what it was.
He has this new fascination with how lamps work.
It is so funny to sneak up behind him and ask him what he's doing. He squats down immediately, but won't make eye contact. He thinks if he avoids eye contact, he's in the clear. When he does make eye contact with me when he's getting in trouble, he immediately changes the subject. For example, one night I was trying to get his "night-nights" on, but he just didn't want to cooperate. I gave up for the moment then he did something he wasn't supposed to do (I can't remember what) and I gave him one of my looks and he immediately ran and got his "night-nights" and asked me to put them on him. He has Steve's outlook of "let's just ignore what I do wrong and move on to something else."
After nap time, Nathan enjoyed one of the cookies that he worked so hard on.
Then we played with cars.
Nathan is working on learning every make and model of all 130 cars. Here he is carefully lining up his Range Rovers, which happen to be his absolute favorites. "Pretty Bentleys" are a close second. This kid has expensive taste.
Notice how his Range Rover collection grows in each picture.
Now there's six.
Admiring his Range Rovers from a new angle.
Nathan is addicted to technology. He thinks it's so much fun to video chat. He talked to PawPaw and Lady forever today. Then they tried to hang up, but Nathan just wouldn't let them. He did a really fake cry then he pulled out the big guns, he told them over and over that he loves them. That bought him another ten minutes, then he needed to see all of PawPaw's bobbles one more time. There is no such thing as a quick hello if you're iChatting with Nathan.
Visiting with Nathan (and Megan) was the best part of my day. Lady
